  • Collaborate with Accounting to reconcile receipts and inventory discrepancies.
  • Establish and maintain supplier relationships and perform vendor evaluation/selection.

Responsible for the acquisition of materials and services and the flow of goods in our supply chain for the Machine Shop and Duroglide Divisions. Responsible for placing Purchase Orders for components and services as signaled by the ERP system. Manage daily tasks as they relate to the incoming supply of raw materials to support the requirements of production for the Machine Shop/Duroglide and back up for other Buyers. Elevate supply issues and concerns to the appropriate parties. Aid in the development of process improvement plans to identify opportunities to enhance the purchasing process and streamline the supply chain.

Reports To: Director of Purchasing and Innovation

Responsible for the acquisition of materials and services and the flow of goods in our supply chain for the Machine Shop and Duroglide Divisions. Responsible for placing Purchase Orders for components and services as signaled by the ERP system. Manage daily tasks as they relate to the incoming supply of raw materials to support the requirements of production for the Machine Shop/Duroglide and back up for other Buyers. Elevate supply issues and concerns to the appropriate parties. Aid in the development of process improvement plans to identify opportunities to enhance the purchasing process and streamline the supply chain.

In Addition
  • Work on cost savings initiatives as assigned, bringing deliverable results.
  • Work to drive down inventory dollars (excess and obsolete).
  • Manage mins/safety stock on a quarterly basis.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Include the following:

  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Elevate supply chain issues such as late deliveries or risk of supply chain to appropriate managers and internal stakeholders in a timely fashion.
  • Process Purchase Orders and Requisitions verifying nomenclature, part number, and specifications for inventory, R&D items, and non-stock items.
  • Determine root causes for late shipments and find opportunities for improvement.
  • Resolve supply issues with vendors.
  • Communicate delivery dates internally as needed.
  • Collaborate with Accounting in reconciling receipt and inventory discrepancies.
  • Work on projects assigned to drive down costs, improve delivery, and maintain a high standard of quality. Deliver results.
  • Establish, build, and maintain relationships with all key suppliers. Perform vendor evaluation and selection.
  • Forecast and communicate trends in the markets to other business partners.
  • Manage an inventory reduction program that delivers results by decreasing excess and obsolete inventory.
  • Manage sub-contract process.
  • Communicate pricings to Sales and Operations.

Education And/Or Experience

Bachelor’s degree; or five or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and regulatory agencies. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and percentages.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

  • Certified Purchasing Manager Certification (CPM) – Preferred
  • American Production and Inventory Control Society Certified (APICS) – Preferred
