Job summary

viaPhoton is seeking a Buyer to own end-to-end purchasing—from creating purchase orders to building strong supplier relationships. You’ll impact operations by ensuring accurate orders, timely deliveries, and cost-effective sourcing for fiber optic products.

The role emphasizes organization, detail-orientation, and the ability to manage multiple priorities across procurement, warehouse, and finance teams.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience.
• Familiar with ERP systems like NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle.
• Clear written and verbal communication with vendors and cross-functional teammates.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for tracking and reporting.
• Identify discrepancies, elevate issues appropriately, and resolve them promptly.
• Work well across teams with warehouse, finance, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Create, issue, and track purchase orders based on departmental needs with accuracy in quantities, pricing, and delivery timelines.
• Review and process purchase requisitions from internal departments, confirming specifications before order placement.
• Monitor open purchase orders from placement through receipt, resolving delays or discrepancies.
• Maintain daily contact with suppliers to confirm orders, negotiate pricing, and ensure on-time delivery.
• Update records in the ERP system including pricing, lead times, item specs, and vendor information.
• Coordinate with warehouse/receiving teams to reconcile deliveries and address shortages or damages.

Schedule: Mon–Fri 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | Onsite

Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000 base, plus annual bonus

About the Role

If you're organized, detail-oriented, and like managing multiple priorities at once, this role gives you real scope. As a Buyer, you'll own the end-to-end purchasing process, from creating purchase orders to building strong supplier relationships. Your work directly shapes how smoothly our operations run and how cost-effectively we source the materials that power our fiber optic products.

• Update and maintain accurate records in the ERP system, including pricing, lead times, item specifications, and vendor information
• Coordinate with warehouse and receiving teams to reconcile deliveries and address shortages or damages promptly

What You'll Bring

• Have 1 to 3 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience (a plus, but not required)
• Are familiar with ERP systems like NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle, with careful attention to detail
• Communicate clearly in writing and verbally with vendors and cross-functional teammates
• Are proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for tracking and reporting
• Can identify discrepancies, elevate issues appropriately, and resolve them promptly
• Work well across teams with warehouse, finance, and operations
