Job summary

Wurth Wood Group Inc. - Charlotte, NC Location is seeking a results-driven Buyer to maintain inventory levels at our Charlotte distribution centers through purchasing, forecasting, and ERP-based planning. This onsite role requires collaboration with suppliers and internal teams to optimize stock and budget.

You will monitor trends, prepare purchase orders, analyze data in Excel, and drive continuous improvement across the supply chain. 1+ year in purchasing preferred; SAP experience helpful.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years in purchasing in a high-volume distribution environment.
• Experience with SAP or ERP systems.
• Experience with finished goods distribution.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Job description

We are currently seeking a results-driven Buyer to help us effectively and efficiently maintain product inventory levels within WWG's distribution centers through purchasing activities, forecasting, MRP planning, benchmarking and continuous improvement. As a buyer, you will manage inventory levels & budget as well as interface with leaders and contributors at all levels of the company, customers, and suppliers. This position will be onsite in our corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor inventory levels and sales trends to maintain appropriate stock levels.
• Preparing & tracking purchase orders, acknowledgements and shipping notices
• Collaborating and communicating with suppliers, teammates, and other departments, including Sales, Customer Service, Warehouse, Accounts Payable, and IT.
• Creating reports and resolving purchase order discrepancies and product defects
• Benchmarking and continuous improvement
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong understanding of purchasing principles, inventory control, and supply chain management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with ERP systems, purchasing software, and Microsoft Excel.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Work Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• SAP or other ERP system experience
• 1+ years in purchasing in a high-volume distribution environment
• Experience with finished goods distribution
• High attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Experience with SAP is a plus (Advanced ERP System knowledge)
• Advanced Excel skills
• EDI experience (not needed)
• Experience purchasing industrial, building, cabinet making and woodworking products for the residential and commercial construction industries.
