Job summary

Hendrick Chevrolet Cary is seeking a Buyer to obtain Used-Car inventory through appraisals and off-site auctions. The Buyer will make financially sound purchasing decisions to support the Company.

The role includes supervising responsibilities, coordinating wholesale auctions, appraising trade-ins, and negotiating pricing while working with technicians to assess reconditioning costs. Strong customer interaction and adherence to company standards are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive retail operations and vehicle valuation.

Summary: Responsible for obtaining Used-Car inventory through appraisals and by attending off-site auctions. The Buyer is responsible for making financially sound purchasing decisions for the Company.

Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Products. Intermediate knowledge and/or ability to learn the Dealership Management System and web based applications.

Attendance Expectations

The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and sit.

Environment Demands

Duties are performed throughout the dealership and/or at off-site auctions, both indoors and outdoors. Due to the nature of the position, may be exposed to various work environments and required to perform a variety of tasks. Work includes frequent movement around the dealership or auction facilities and the outdoor car lot to interact with customers and other departments.

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.
