Job summary

Ollie’s Bargain Outlet is seeking a Buyer to source, select and procure products for stores, coordinating with vendors to secure deals that meet margin expectations. The role requires strong communication and a proactive, entrepreneurial attitude.

Responsibilities include directing the buying process, negotiating terms, attending trade shows, setting pricing, developing allocation plans, managing department finances and inventory, and building vendor relationships to drive sales.

Qualifications

• Higher education, including two and four year degrees related to business management required (Bachelor's degree preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in buying or related development program and selection process.
• Ability to work effectively in a professional environment.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment.
• Ability to effectively communicate with all team members as well as guests.
• Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job.
• Ability to complete assignments in the time allotted.

• Manage a high volume of buying workload.
• Complete any additional responsibilities and/or duties as assigned.

Position Overview:

The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, selecting and procuring functions directly associated with the purchasing of products to be sold in stores. This position is required to have effective communication with vendors and secure appropriate deals on merchandise that meets the company’s margin expectations. Physical Requirements:

• Travel to trade shows including overnight travel is required.
• Physical ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
