Job summary

Aviation Specialties Unlimited, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Buyer in Boise, Idaho. The role covers end-to-end purchasing, demand forecasting, and material planning to keep production on track.

You will negotiate with suppliers, manage POs, and provide cost data for quotes in a fast-moving aerospace manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will balance cost, quality, and timing, collaborate with operations, engineering, and sales, and contribute to continuous improvement and ERP data

Qualifications

• Hands-on buyer with experience owning purchasing and planning in manufacturing.
• Able to balance cost, quality, and timing while meeting production demands.
• Experience with aerospace standards is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end purchasing: sourcing, quoting, negotiating, and issuing POs.
• Build and maintain demand forecasts tied to production plans.
• Plan and manage material requirements to support schedules.
• Support costing and pricing by maintaining standard costs.
• Partner with sales to provide cost data for quotes.
• Monitor supplier performance and address delivery or quality issues.
• Strengthen relationships with key vendors and niche suppliers.
• Analyze inventory and set reorder points, safety stock, replenishment strategies.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align supply chain with shifting priorities.
• Identify and drive cost savings opportunities.
• Maintain accurate data in ERP systems (lead times, pricing, supplier info).
• Support compliance with quality and aerospace standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across supply chain processes.
