ECHO LAKE COUNTRY CLUB
Food Runner / Busser.

Reports to: Dining Room Manager / Supervisor & Banquet and Event Manager / Supervisor.

Role Purpose:
Echo Lake Country Club, a leading private country club, is seeking creative and forward-thinking food runners and bussers to join our service team. The purpose of the food runner/busser is to ensure the seamless and efficient delivery of food from the kitchen to the members, with the ability to verbalize components of the dish to the members, and maintain a clean and organized dining room. Our busser/runners are a support system for the service teams to ensure that Echo Lake provides the best service possible to our membership.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Efficiently transport food from the kitchen to the correct tables.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff and servers to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of food and beverages as assigned.
  • Ensure that food is presented correctly, to the correct seat number and table, and that all orders are correct before leaving the kitchen.
  • Interact with members and their guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Respond to any immediate needs or requests made by the members and service team.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Greet and welcome members and their guests with a warm and welcoming attitude.
  • Clear tables of used dishes, utensils, and glassware upon completion of meals.
  • Support the service staff by refilling water glasses, delivering bread, running drinks, and any other tasks to enhance the dining experience.
  • Monitor and restock necessary items such as napkins, silverware, etc.
  • Properly count china, glass, and silver on inventory days.
  • Learn to prepare and serve coffee and espresso beverages if directed.
  • Support the setup and breakdown of tables and equipment for events.
  • Work banquet events, passing, and lite service as requested when needed.
  • Be present for staff training events and meetings as requested by management.
  • Perform all duties, demands, and responsibilities as assigned, beyond this job description.

Daily Tasks:
  • Set and prepare dining areas and/or banquet spaces for service periods and events.
  • Take and serve food and beverage orders with intent to upsell and exceed guest expectations.
  • Coordinate with management and kitchen to ensure timely and accurate service.
  • Relay member feedback/concerns to management.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations.
  • Train and lead support staff by example, while actively correcting and coaching on the floor.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to handle different tasks as needed.
  • Run food to tables.
  • Actively bus, stage & reset dining room tables throughout service.
  • Come to work ready to work -- with pressed uniform and professional appearance and attitude.

Long-Term Objectives:
  • Maintain clean and orderly dining room and event space at all times.
  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with club members to enhance their dining experiences.
  • Participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on industry standards and best practices.
  • Streamline the food delivery process to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Contribute to elevated levels of member satisfaction.
  • Explore opportunities to cross-train in other positions (i.e., housemen, server, etc.)

Working Conditions:
  • Regular work requires a great deal of sitting, standing, lifting, bending, and stretching.
  • Must be able to stand for a minimum of 10 hours at a given time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
  • Must have open availability (nights, mornings, weekends, and holidays).
