Overview

Busser/Food Runner - Big Chill Beach Club

Summary of Position: Big Chill Beach Club’s Utility team is responsible for food running and bussing tables. This team focuses on resetting tables in a speedy, professional, and effective manner as guests leave the restaurant. Utility is also responsible for supporting servers and the service staff with refills, clearing tables, and restocking satellite stations. Must Enjoy the Ride! We offer both part and full-time hours. This position pays $15/hour plus tips.

Responsibilities

• Clear tables after guests leave and take tableware to the dish room.
• Between settings promptly clean table tops, chairs and booths. Check the floor and clean as required. Reset and arrange the tabletop.
• Return clean side plates, cups, silverware and bus tubs to the main deck and event deck area.
• Respond appropriately to guest requests. Communicate guest requests to the server immediately.
• Deliver food to tables using pivot points.
• Remove trash from all areas and transport to the main trash area by the inlet.
• Thank guests as they are leaving and consistently demonstrate good customer service skills.
• Show flexibility in terms of your schedule to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
• Maintain a high level of personal cleanliness.
• Be a team player; Help out fellow employees when possible.
• Complete daily sidework, before, during and at the end of each shift.
• Live the brand and be a brand ambassador; make decisions in the best interest of the business at all times.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 14 years of age.
• No previous restaurant experience required.
• Good communication skills.
• Carry heavy trays (20 lbs at least) for long periods of time.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
• Ability to maintain a calm professional demeanor during periods of uncertainty or crisis.
• Ability to stand, reach, bend, squat, and lift during shift. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Must have reliable transportation to/from work.
• Flexibility of schedule to assume responsibilities as needed.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
