Job summary

Choice Hotels International, Inc is seeking a Fire Lake Busser for its upscale Radisson Blu Aqua Chicago property. This hourly position pays $19.62 per hour and offers a rich guest service environment in a luxury downtown setting near Millennium Park.

As a busser you will assist bar/lounge/restaurant, greet guests, reset tables, support servers, and ensure dishes and tableware are prepared for service. The role requires attention to detail, strong teamwork, and the ability to work well under

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to Bar/Lounge/Restaurant: obtain service area assignments at the beginning of each shift.
• This can include working in the bar/lounge, dining room, private party areas & beverage storage areas.
• Greet guests as they are seated and bring water to table.
• Remove used tableware between courses and provide tableware for next course.
• Clear tables after guests.
• Take tableware to dish room and place silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in appropriate areas for washing.
• Promptly clean tabletops, chairs and booths between seating.
• Check floor and clean as required.
• Reset and arrange tabletop.
• Respond appropriately to guest requests.
• Communicate guest requests to server as needed.
• Communicate with server and hostess to assure efficient seating, table utilization and customer service.
• Assist server as needed with food delivery, especially with large parties and during peak periods.
• Thank guests as they are leaving.
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
• Washes dishes in the absence of the dishwasher and/or as directed by the servers and manager.
• Abide by legal standards and TIPS alcohol training guidelines for alcohol service to guests.
• Creates 100% guest satisfaction through performance that demonstrates the standards of genuine hospitality and exceeding guest expectations: Gives personal attention, takes personal responsibility and uses teamwork when providing guest service.
• Listens, apologizes with empathy, finds a solution and follows through when resolving guest problems.
• Provides Yes, I Can! genuine hospitality and teamwork on an ongoing basis

• Experience in similar position within an upscale restaurant environment is preferred.

Physical Demands
