Job summary

HomeGrown is a daytime eatery focused on kindness and community. We’re seeking a Busser to support a fast-paced front of house, pre-bussing and bussing tables, and aiding other roles to maintain a top-notch dining experience.

Expect an hourly wage with tip share, and benefits for full-time team members; you’ll finish by 3:30 pm most days. Join a welcoming team at HomeGrown while contributing to a friendly, efficient space that serves breakfast and brunch with local partnerships and community

Responsibilities

• Maintain dining room by pre-bussing and bussing tables quickly and efficiently.
• Assist other front-of-house roles by cleaning, stocking, and organizing areas.
• Communicate with hosts, servers, bartenders, and management to update seating.
• Keep work areas clean, sanitized, and stocked with glassware, dishes, and supplies.
• Complete daily cleaning tasks and support ongoing maintenance program.

Title: Busser (Front of House Team Member)

Invitation:

To love and serve people by helping maintain our dining room by pre-bussing and bussing tables quickly and efficiently. The busser also aids the other positions in the front of house by cleaning tables and floors throughout the restaurant, stocking glassware, ice, dishes, etc.

Specific Functions and Duties

• Communicating with the host/hostesses, servers, bartenders, and management team to ensure tables are updated in our seating system.
• Pre-bussing tables in the dining room when all dirty tables are clean.
• Bussing/cleaning tables inside the restaurant as well as on the patio and helping clean the bar top.
• Replace sanitizer in spray bottles and buckets as needed to ensure safety and sanitation.
• Clean, disinfect, and sanitize work areas before, during and after shift.
• Assist with stocking glassware, water bottles, plate ware, silverware, dishes, etc. as needed.
• Complete assigned daily and weekly cleaning projects.
• Complete daily restaurant maintenance program.

Qualification Standards

• A positive attitude and desire to learn and grow
• Able to place plates, utensils, pans and cases on high and low shelves.
• Reading, writing and verbal communication skills required.
• Ability to follow directions exactly as expected.
• Ability to work fast, safe, efficient, and accurately for periods of up to 10 hours per day.
• Attention to detail.
• Mobility required during the entire shift.
• Ability to transport cases up to 50 pounds as many as 20 times per day.
• Ability to carry bus tubs full of dishes and miscellaneous items from the tables, throughout the entirety of the restaurant repetitively, for periods of up to 6 hours.
• Able to respond in emergency situations to avoid imminent dangers to self and others.

Physical

There are physical demands that come with this role. To be successful in this role you’ll be regularly required to 1) navigate throughout the restaurant and communicate with guests, 2) move and grasp items up to five pounds, 3) occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, 4) bend and stoop. You must have adequate vision to be able to discern cleanliness throughout the restaurant and operate a touchscreen. To perform these essential functions, reasonable accommodations may be made if you have disabilities.
