Job summary

Airbus Americas, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Business Unit Manager for the A320 Completions team. You will be accountable for delivering a complete and certified engine/storage work package aligned with Airbus and authorities, ensuring on-time, on-budget execution.

The role sits in a dynamic environment on the Airbus Way at the Mobile facility, with opportunities to lead cross-functional teams and influence production on the A320 Family programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration or equivalent working experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in an aerospace or industrial manufacturing environment, with a focus on production management, assembly lines (FAL), or engine/component integration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a functional team of 6 indirect staff to drive performance.
  • Manage budgets including subcontracted/consulting activity; 8M€ storage and 3M€ engine-related.
  • Guarantee efficiency of operational processes from engine/storage cycle to Final Operational Transfer.
  • Deliver a fully operational ground engine that meets cost, time and quality standards for the A320 Completions.
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Engineering to develop cost-saving concepts.

Job Description

Airbus is seeking a dedicated Business Unit Manager to join our A320 Completions team. In this role, you will be accountable for delivering a complete and certified Single Aisle Engine and Storage Work Package that aligns with the requirements of Airbus and international authorities. You will ensure that all operational processes are executed on time, within quality standards, and on budget

The team at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing facilities help assemble the finest aircraft in the world, along two (soon to be three) production lines for the A220 and A320 Family aircraft. On the shop floor you’ll be surrounded by individuals who are passionate about aviation and skilled in areas like electrical, structure and quality. Your Working Environment

On ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus’ strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.

  • Team Leadership: Lead a functional team of 6 indirect staff members.

  • Budget Responsibility: Manage significant subcontracted and consulting activity budgets, specifically 8M€ for Storage and 3M€ for Engine-related activities.

  • Operational Excellence: Guarantee the effectiveness and efficiency of all operational processes from the start of the Engine/Storage cycle up to FOT (Final Operational Transfer) and continuously drive process improvements.

  • Delivery: Deliver a fully operational ground engine that meets all cost, time, and quality standards for the A320 Completions.

  • Optimization: Collaborate with Procurement and Engineering to develop practicable concepts that improve operating costs.

Your Boarding Pass
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration or equivalent working experience
  • Operations experience Professional Background: 10+ years of experience in an aerospace or industrial manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on production management, assembly lines (FAL), or engine/component integration.
