Location: Northern California (Hybrid)
Compensation: $225,000 – $300,000 annually, plus benefits
About Us
Fruition Group US is a specialist recruitment partner working across technology, engineering, and cleantech markets in the US, UK, Ireland, and Europe. We're currently retained by a well-established, privately held manufacturer of high-frequency electronic components, serving defence, aerospace, and test & measurement markets, to fill a senior general-management position. The client's identity is kept confidential at this stage of the process; full details are shared with shortlisted candidates.
Job Brief Overview
This is a senior general-management role with full profit-and-loss ownership of a product line characterized by low production volume, a wide product mix, and a broad customer base spanning direct sales, distribution partners, and e-commerce. You'll be accountable for growing revenue across all three channels, shaping the product roadmap, and building the go-to-market infrastructure this kind of business needs, including designing a new sales channel model to properly serve smaller and mid-tier accounts that the existing direct sales team isn't set up to handle.
Important eligibility note:
This role involves access to export-controlled technical data. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident (green card holder), or otherwise authorized to access controlled technical information under applicable U.S. export control regulations.
About the Role
Business ownership & growth
- Own the full P&L for the product line; revenue, margin, and growth targets across direct, distribution, and e-commerce channels, reporting into senior commercial leadership.
- Build annual and multi-year revenue plans by channel and segment to course-correct when performance drifts from plan.
- Own the product roadmap end to end: new introductions, line extensions, and retiring underperforming products, with final say on prioritization.
- Work with product management and engineering to align design capacity with roadmap priorities, and with sales and distribution partners to validate what customers actually need.
- Assess current coverage across direct, distribution, and e-commerce, and define the target model and boundaries for each.
- Build the business case for new channel investment and present it to senior leadership for sign-off.
- Own distribution partner relationships and the e-commerce presence — catalogue accuracy, pricing, and discoverability.
- Set and own the pricing framework, list prices, discounting, and exception governance, balancing growth against margin.
- Define requirements for the product line's website presence, technical collateral (datasheets, application notes, selection guides), and launch content, partnering with the marketing team to execute.
Team & stakeholder leadership
- Lead a small marketing team: set direction, develop people, and hire as the business scales.
- Partner with sales leadership on strategic account relationships and voice-of-customer work.
- Monitor the competitive landscape and feed intelligence into roadmap decisions.
- Standard people-management responsibilities: goal-setting, coaching, performance management, and building a strong team culture.

- Experience building or improving multi-channel sales models (distribution, inside sales or e-commerce) for a technical product business.
- Experience setting pricing strategy and managing margin for technical components.
- RF/microwave component background, with enough domain depth to engage credibly with defense/EW and test & measurement customers.
