The successful candidate will bring seven+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, CPA/CMA preferred, and a proven track record in manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Seven+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience with leadership.
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or similar complex environments.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, tax, and compliance.
  • ERP experience; SAP experience is highly desirable.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and BI/reporting tools.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the complete accounting function, including AP, AR, GL, fixed assets, and close.
  • Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting in line with IFRS and standards.
  • Develop financial controls, governance processes, and compliance procedures.
  • Partner with executives on budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range plans.
  • Deliver financial analysis, KPI reporting, profitability insights for decision-making.
  • Oversee cash management, working capital, treasury activities, and liquidity planning.
  • Lead tax compliance with external auditors and advisors.
  • Support audits and regulatory readiness.
  • Drive continuous improvement in finance operations and processes.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, and Commercial leadership.

As a key member of the U.S. leadership team, the Business Unit Controller will be responsible for ensuring the financial integrity of the organization while partnering closely with executive leadership to drive profitable growth, operational excellence, and informed decision-making. This role extends well beyond traditional accounting responsibilities, requiring a leader who can translate financial data into business strategy while building scalable processes and strong financial governance.

The Opportunity

Business Unit Controller

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the complete accounting function, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, fixed assets, and monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close.
  • Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting in accordance with IFRS and corporate accounting standards.
  • Develop and strengthen financial controls, governance processes, and compliance procedures that support a growing business.
  • Partner with executive leadership to develop annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
  • Deliver meaningful financial analysis, KPI reporting, profitability analysis, and business performance insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee cash management, working capital optimization, treasury activities, and liquidity planning.
  • Lead all tax compliance activities, including coordination with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Support internal and external audits while ensuring audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across finance operations, reporting, automation, and business processes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, and Commercial leadership to improve business performance and identify opportunities for growth and cost optimization.
  • Develop a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement within the finance function.
What We're Looking For

The successful candidate is both a strong technical finance professional and a business-minded leader. They enjoy partnering with operating leaders, asking thoughtful questions, solving complex business challenges, and building processes that enable growth.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
  • Seven or more years of progressive accounting and finance experience with increasing leadership responsibility.
  • Experience leading accounting operations within manufacturing, industrial, distribution, consumer products, or similarly complex environments.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, tax, and compliance.
  • Experience working within ERP environments; SAP experience is highly desirable.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience leveraging business intelligence and financial reporting tools.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to prioritize effectively, lead through change, and succeed in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
