Position Summary

The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) is seeking a Business Transformation Program Manager to help drive high-impact, cross-functional initiatives that deliver measurable business outcomes aligned with organizational priorities.

This role offers the opportunity to work directly with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, gaining exposure to strategic decision-making while building the skills to independently drive increasingly complex business transformation programs and initiatives.

As Business Transformation Program Manager, you will bring structure and clarity to fast-moving and sometimes ambiguous environments. You will support a portfolio of initiatives by tracking progress, managing dependencies, identifying risks, driving follow-through, and helping teams stay accountable for results.

We are looking for someone with a strong bias for action, a high level of ownership, and a desire to learn and grow. Success in this role requires the ability to independently move work forward, proactively solve problems, communicate clearly, challenge assumptions when appropriate, and operate with urgency and accountability.

Work Arrangement

This is a hybrid position based in Lake Mary, Florida, combining in-office collaboration with remote work.

What You'll Do

Program Direction & Execution

• Define program goals, success measures, and approaches for tracking progress.
• Establish effective planning, prioritization, and operating cadences, including regular program reviews and team syncs.
• Prepare materials and drive alignment around leadership decisions.
• Maintain and adjust program roadmaps, priorities, and sequencing as business needs evolve.
• Ensure initiatives remain aligned with organizational priorities and operational readiness.

Program Delivery & Coordination

• Drive execution across multiple initiatives and workstreams to keep progress on track.
• Identify dependencies, risks, gaps, and potential barriers across teams.
• Own follow-ups, help remove blockers, and reinforce accountability for commitments.
• Maintain clear visibility into timelines, deliverables, milestones, and overall program health.
• Identify recurring execution issues and help improve delivery consistency.

Performance & Value Tracking

• Track KPIs, outcomes, and progress through clear, actionable reporting.
• Help ensure initiatives deliver measurable business value.
• Support financial tracking, business case alignment, and visibility into expected benefits.
• Analyze program information and provide insights that support leadership decision-making.

Stakeholder Alignment & Communication

• Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to maintain alignment.
• Facilitate communication, document decisions, and ensure appropriate follow-through.
• Proactively and clearly elevate risks, conflicts, dependencies, and trade-offs.
• Support adoption by helping ensure initiatives are understood and effectively implemented.

Risk Management & Problem Solving

• Anticipate risks and potential execution challenges and take steps to mitigate them.
• Manage cross-team dependencies to help prevent execution gaps.
• Bring structure, clarity, and actionable next steps to ambiguous situations.
• Confidently and respectfully challenge assumptions when appropriate.

Operationalization & Continuous Improvement

• Help transition initiatives into sustainable, steady-state operations.
• Support clear ownership, processes, and sustainment plans.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of relevant professional experience in program management, project management, project coordination, operations, consulting, business transformation, or a related field.

• Comfortable operating in fast-paced environments with ambiguity and shifting priorities.
• Ability to influence outcomes through clear communication and structured problem-solving.
• Exposure to cross-functional work involving business and technical teams.
• Working knowledge of project and program management concepts, including timelines, risks, dependencies, milestones, and progress tracking.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex issues into actionable plans.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work with senior stakeholders.
• Familiarity with using AI and digital tools to improve problem-solving and productivity.
