Job summary

Qualifications

• CPA must be active within the last five years.
• At least three years of experience preparing business tax returns (Sales and Use Tax, Corporation Net Income Tax, Employer Withholding Tax).
• Minimum of two years' experience providing strategic oversight of multifaceted tax functions (compliance, policy implementation, workflows).

Responsibilities

• Policy Analysis: review legislation and prepare technical guidance for agency leaders.
• Advanced Research: study tax laws, court decisions, and federal actions to assess impact on operations.
• Public Representation: present program information at meetings and events for clear communication.
• Stakeholder Support: respond to complex questions from legislators, tax practitioners, and other agencies.
• Internal Guidance: direct staff to ensure consistent interpretation of business tax rules.
• Knowledge Management: document and share technical information to strengthen expertise.
