Job summary

Viterbo University is looking for a Business Systems Programmer/Analyst to help develop and support institutional data systems and dashboards. You will work with the Administrative Systems team to enable cross-system data integration, reporting, and decision support for operational effectiveness.

The role focuses on BI reporting, data visualization, SQL data extraction, and collaboration with multiple campus units, including support for Ellucian Colleague and Self-Service environments.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in information systems, data analytics or IT or equivalent experience.
• Strong project management and results focus in an information systems environment.
• Experience with BI dashboards and reporting from diverse data sources.
• Understanding of data relationships, integrity, reporting and security.
• Basic HTML, JQuery and JavaScript knowledge required.
• Advanced SQL data extraction, transformation, and query writing skills.
• Experience with database design is a plus, SSIS/SSRS/Tableau familiarity is a plus.

Viterbo is seeking a Business Systems Programmer/Analyst to work within the Administrative Systems team to develop and support systems, processes and structures related to the management of institutional data & digital resources for the operational effectiveness of administrative offices. This can include but is not limited to interactive data integration between disparate systems, cross system data visualization/reporting, assisting business units in the use of technology tools to gain operational efficiency and overall transparency of data for Institutional use and support the management, maintenance, continual improvement and upgrading systems related to University's administrative software/hardware systems (Ellucian Colleague & Self Service). This is a full time, year-round, salary, exempt position.

Responsibilities:

• Review, analyze and evaluate business systems and user needs to determine opportunities that can improve efficiency of business processes and decision making.
• Provide oversight, planning, and support of the document imaging/management solution, form creation, BI reporting & dashboarding, and data integration between systems.
• Work as part of the Dashboarding and Programmer/Analyst Teams in support of data use for decision making and metric (KPI) tracking at all levels of the Institution.
• Support systems and data integration to aid in end user utilizations as well as maintain security/integrity of data.
• Support departmental needs related to data extraction/analysis for regulatory or institutional needs.
• Provide administrative offices with Tier II support of software.
• Assist in the support & software update management of the ERP (Ellucian Colleague & Self-Service) system.
• Work with various campus departments on process mapping to determine opportunities for document workflow automation.
• Write technical procedures and documentation for the applications including operations, user guide, etc.
• Willingness to undertake additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned by the Director of IIT as the role evolves over time to meet the department's changing needs.

Qualifications:

• BA/BS Degree, preferably in information systems, data analytics or information technology or equivalent experience
• Strong project management skills with effective results focus within an information systems environment
• Experience with BI dashboarding/reporting from a variety of data sources required
• Strong understanding of data relationships, data integrity, reporting and security
• Basic understanding of HTML, JQuery and JavaScript coding is required
• Willingness to work in a collaborative environment
• Ability to gather and interpret relevant data and information
• Advanced experience with the extraction/transformation of data from various types of databases utilizing & writing SQL query language required, demonstratable skills in creating, maintaining, troubleshooting SQL queries is required
• Demonstratable experience with data base structure and design is a plus
• Experience of SSIS and SSRS tools a plus
• Experience with Tableau and knowledge of visualization best practices a plus
• Experience with Etrieve SoftDocs a plus
• Experience with Ellucian products a plus
• Experience in server software management a plus
