Job description

The Business Systems & IT Support Specialist supports the effective use of the company's ERP and other business systems across all divisions, while also serving as a secondary point of contact for general IT support. This position plays a key role in ensuring data integrity and driving end-user adoption across business and field operations. Working closely with the Senior IT Manager and divisional leadership, this role helps align technology, training, and support with operational needs, contributing directly to efficiency and accuracy as the company's technology environment evolves.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer user access to company hardware and software systems, including approved AI tools, in accordance with established authorization, security, and licensing requirements.
  • Provide supplemental end-user IT support, assisting with basic troubleshooting of company-wide hardware and software systems, account access issues, and device setup when requests require internal coordination or cannot be resolved by the company's managed service provider. Document troubleshooting steps and engage the managed service provider or Senior IT Manager, based on the nature and urgency of the issue.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for new and existing users on ERP workflows, system processes, and operational software; adapt materials for both in-person and remote delivery.
  • Support post-implementation evaluation of the ERP system following upgrades or rollouts, including data validation, process documentation, and user workflow review.
  • Support the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new or enhanced operational platforms, with particular emphasis on safety systems, fleet management solutions, and AI technologies.
  • Develop and maintain user guides, quick reference materials, and process documentation to support consistent system usage across divisions.
  • Collaborate with the Senior IT Manager to identify and prioritize system enhancements and communicate user feedback.
  • Provide backup coverage for designated IT functions when the Senior IT Manager is unavailable or during periods of high demand, following established procedures and access controls.
  • Participate in system configuration, testing, and quality assurance during upgrades, rollouts, and platform transitions.
  • Maintain working knowledge of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements as they relate to operational system data (e.g., safety reporting, fleet records, AI capabilities).
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support IT and operational objectives.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

  • 2–4 years of experience in a business systems, ERP support, or related role.
  • Demonstrated experience with ERP platforms; familiarity with construction, utilities, or infrastructure industry systems is a plus.
  • Experience with project, safety, or fleet management software; familiarity with Smartsheet or similar tools preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify data issues and recommend effective solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex system processes into clear, accessible training content and deliver it effectively in both in-person and remote settings.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive and self-directed, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities with minimal oversight.
  • Interest in and willingness to learn emerging technologies, including AI tools.
  • Experience providing general end-user technical support (e.g., hardware setup, account access, basic troubleshooting) in an office or field environment.

Qualifications Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in information systems, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting ERP implementations, post-implementation optimization, or system migration projects.
  • Familiarity with Acumatica or similar construction/infrastructure ERP platforms.
  • Experience in the construction, utilities, or infrastructure industry.

Working Conditions / Environment:

  • This is a hybrid position requiring regular in-office presence, along with the ability to maintain a professional and productive home office environment on remote workdays.
  • Periodic travel may be required to divisional locations in Idaho and Missouri for on‑site training, system rollouts, or operational support.
  • This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as a laptop computer, smartphone, and video conferencing tools. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some in-person engagement will be required during travel.
