Qualifications

Overview

LABUR is partnering with a client to bring on a Business Systems Analyst with deep asset management middle office expertise. This role partners with operations, technology, data, and vendor teams to define requirements, improve workflows, resolve data issues, and deliver scalable systems. The ideal person combines strong technical and analytical skills with a practical understanding of AI and automation applications in financial operations.

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, and document business, technical, functional, and data requirements for reconciliation and middle office initiatives
• Support cash, position, and transaction reconciliation across internal systems, custodians, accounting platforms, and data providers
• Turn business needs into user stories, process maps, data mappings, specifications, test scenarios, and procedures
• Collaborate with engineering, QA, data, architecture, and vendor teams on integrations, reporting, testing, implementation, and support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Business, Accounting, Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Several years of business analysis or systems analysis experience in financial services, investment operations, or fintech
• Firsthand asset management middle office reconciliation and exception management experience
• Strong SQL and data analysis skills with the ability to interpret technical designs, mappings, logs, interface files, and application workflows
• Strong understanding of matching, break investigation, root cause analysis, tolerances, aging, escalation, and controls.
• Experience with investment data including trades, positions, cash, transactions, securities, pricing, corporate actions, and reference data
• Familiarity with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel
• Understanding of responsible AI principles including privacy, explainability, oversight, and operational risk controls
• Preferred: Experience with reconciliation platforms such as VestmarkONE, SmartStream, Aladdin, Advent Portfolio Exchange, or similar tools; knowledge of major asset classes, cloud data platforms, APIs, Python, or workflow automation

Compensation

$70-$75/hr - Dependent on fit and experience
