Job Summary

Partners with business teams to design and implement complex data and analytics-centric and value-added systems and solutions that enable business outcomes. Projects are complex. Performs work independently or with minimal guidance, depending on task complexity. Responsible for moderately influencing data and analytic strategy, development and implementation of low to moderately complex data and analytic products to drive business decisions, customer/agent experience, profitability and growth. Reviews and approves low to moderate complexity initiatives related to data and analytic efforts. Oversees the ongoing support, maintenance and modification of existing moderately complex data products or solutions. This position is responsible for bringing innovative ideas in Data & Analytics to Business leadership that may be domain specific or functional in nature with a proven level of implementation individually.

Essential Tasks & Leadership Philosophy

• Develops complex value-based analytics solutions for quality, business process functionality, or other strategic/data/analytic initiatives that are complex in nature. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify and establish analytics requirements. Creates detailed documentation and business plans that address stakeholder needs. Liaises between IT, data science/R&D teams and Product Management for analytics models and data solutions. Trusted business partner working with business leaders and cross-functional teams to identify key challenges and work on resolutions with the goal of improving organizational performance.
• Develops and implements complex enterprise-wide data integration strategies that utilize various data-marts and data warehouse applications to enhance reporting. Continuously works across departments with a variety of stakeholders to develop and execute project plans, improve data platforms, dashboards, and reports to meet emerging and changing business demands and guidelines. Consults with minimal guidance on UAT, technical specifications, strategic planning, contract design, technical support, testing updates, and trainings.
• Manages data from multiple sources and uses project management skills to complete complex projects with minimal coaching and guidance. Transmits data and proactively works to ensure data quality. Troubleshoots data issues and devises creative and effective ways to avoid or mitigate issues.
• Uses advanced understanding of data elements, structures, standards typically involved in financial services transactions, reporting, and cloud-based data storage/sharing to adopt and apply standards in a way that satisfies and balances regulatory and compliance requirements with business needs.
• May manage a team of up to 2 individual contributors effectively. Learning skills in maintaining high levels of employee engagement.
• Supervises, guides, coaches, and manages the performance of direct reports. Delivers regular feedback and supports professional development. Relies on emerging skill in employee engagement to promote a high-performance culture where excellence is standard and innovation is actively encouraged.
• Ability to craft strategic plans and translate those plans to action for individuals within span of control or indirect individuals across one to two business domains. Proven track record of strategic enablement.

First Year Success Factors

Ability to quickly jump into the work, comfortable owning deliverables and driving them to completion, and taking initiative to solve problems. For this role, a self starter with a high degree of confidence and ability to jump in right away is key.

Education & Career Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors degree preferred.
• 5-7 years of related work experience required.
• Experience in the insurance Property & Casualty industry strongly preferred; specific experience in Business Insurance is a plus.
• Experience with large scale data transformations and/or platform delivery as a product owner or business owner is strongly preferred. Responsibilities include defining requirements, developing user acceptance testing strategies and test cases, performing quality checks and review of deliverables, helping manage project plans, and signing off on delivered work.
• Comfort and expertise around data models and data architecture is a must.
