Job summary

Aspire Talent Solutions is seeking a Business Segment Controller for a Fortune 500 client in the New York area. You will serve as the site finance lead and strategic partner to the business unit manager, overseeing manufacturing cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and regulatory compliance.

This hands-on role emphasizes product costing, inventory management, working capital optimization, and leadership of the finance team, with travel to site visits for operational reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA or Master’s degree preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive manufacturing accounting and finance experience.
• 3-5 years of leadership or management experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SOX 404, ASC 606, budgeting and forecasting.
• Product cost accounting, inventory management, and working capital optimization.
• Excel and PowerPoint; Oracle, HFM, and Power BI preferred.
• Public company and M&A experience preferred.
• Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Budgets & forecasts, analyzing revenue, profitability, expenses, and working capital.
• Monitor KPIs, improve productivity, reduce costs, and support product development.
• Oversee product costing, inventory valuation, physical counts, and excess and obsolete inventory reserves.
• Drive working capital improvements across accounts receivable, inventory, accounts payable, and other operating accounts.
• Evaluate capital expenditures & prepare financial analyses, inc: NPV calculations.
• Compliance with US GAAP, SOX requirements, internal controls, & company policies.
• Support internal and external audits and divisional reporting requirements.

Reporting to the Division Vice President of Business Unit Finance, the Business Segment Controller serves as the site finance lead and strategic business partner to the business unit manager. This hands-on leadership role oversees financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, operational analysis, and compliance, with a strong emphasis on manufacturing cost accounting, inventory management, and working capital optimization.

• $175,000-$225,000 base salary plus bonus.
