Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a qualified professional with active SECRET clearance to support federal audit remediation, internal controls testing, and financial management in a DoD context. The role emphasizes accounting accuracy, risk assessment, and rapid audit strategies in a government ERP environment.

The candidate will work onsite for a portion of the week and contribute to DoD policies, ICOFR, budget, and financial reporting initiatives, partnering with cross-functional teams to strengthen

• Active and maintained SECRET security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• 2+ years of experience supporting federal audit remediation, business process mapping, internal controls testing, risk assessments, and accelerated audit strategies.
• Minimum 2 days onsite as part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert support for audit remediation, sustainment, and financial statement reporting and analysis.
• Assist with ERP-based compliance improvements and ICOFR enhancements.
• Support DoD financial management policies, procedures, and organizational structures.
• Contribute to DoD acquisition, inventory, property and material management initiatives.
• Analyze current trends to improve accounting and auditing compliance.

Job Family: Finance & Accounting Consulting Travel Required: Up to 25% Clearance Required: Active Secret

What You Will Do:

• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP),
• Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS),
• Internal Control Over Financial Reporting (ICOFR),
• DoD financial management policies and procedures and DoD organizational structures
• Expert support for audit remediation, sustainment, and financial statement reporting and analysis
• Understanding of current trends in enhancing compliance with accounting and auditing standards within an Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP)
• Understanding of Office of Management and Budget (OMB) policies and federal financial management systems
• Understanding of DoD acquisition, inventory, property and material management

What You Will Need:

• An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance
• Bachelor’s degree
• TWO (2) or more years of experience supporting federal audit remediation efforts, business process mapping, internal controls testing, risk assessments, and accelerated audit strategies, with experience in accounting, audit, budget, finance, internal controls, and business process improvement.
• Minimum 2 days onsite

What Would Be Nice To Have:

• Master’s degree
• Federal Financial Management or Federal Accounting experience supporting the Department(s) of the Air Force, Army, and/or Navy
• Currently possess one or more of the following certifications:
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • Program Management Professional (PMP)
  • Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM)
  • Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM)
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
