Notion is seeking a senior Strategy & Operations leader to partner with Engineering, Product, and Design, driving high‑impact initiatives and AI-enabled automation. You will translate complex data into actionable plans and build scalable models to guide executive decisions.

You will work with senior leaders to identify opportunities, shape strategy, and ensure timely execution while leveraging AI tools to move faster and deliver measurable business impact.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of strategy experience, with 5+ years in management consulting, investment banking, or related fields.
• Highly structured mindset with a strong focus on outcomes and turning data into insights.
• Excellent financial modeling skills with attention to detail and quality.
• Outstanding executive-level written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to operate independently with senior stakeholders and manage timelines.
• Genuine enthusiasm for AI tools; we use AI to move faster and work smarter.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools like Notion AI, Claude, Codex, or similar.
• Deep understanding of AI SaaS business models, monetization, and pricing.
• Data self-sufficiency; SQL is required.

About the Role

This is an opportunity to serve as a key partner and advisor on Notion's Business Operations team, working primarily with our Engineering, Product, and Design teams. Business Operations is a cross-functional team that partners with senior leaders across the company, focusing on high-impact strategic projects and analysis.

In this role, you'll independently identify the highest-leverage opportunities, define the problem, drive execution, and keep going. If you thrive when given full ownership and a blank page, this role is for you. You'll work hand-in-hand with senior leadership to identify, structure, and act on the most challenging strategic and operational questions impacting our business. And you’ll use AI to build scalable systems and processes that multiply your impact.

What You'll Achieve

• Proactively surface and prioritize high-impact strategic and operational opportunities and own them end-to-end from scoping through execution

• Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and go-to-market leaders to define and implement strategy across all Notion products, driving increased value for our users, our customers, and our business

• Structure complex, ambiguous strategic problems for the Notion leadership team, defining clear hypotheses and building business cases and quantitative models that will inform and influence our approach

• Work closely with cross-functional leaders to define and manage key drivers of business performance, identifying areas of opportunity and incorporating them into your work

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of our competitive positioning by using, assessing, and developing insights about peer businesses to inform your recommendations

• Deeply understand Notion customers and the broader market landscape to uncover insights that inform your recommendations

• Use AI tools and drive automation to create scalable solutions that combine a broad vision for what is possible with an understanding of the practical demands that constrain them

Skills You'll Need to Bring

• 10+ years of strategy experience, with 5+ years’ relevant experience in management consulting, investment banking, or related professional services fields

• Highly structured mindset with a strong focus on driving outcomes and turning data into actionable insights

• Excellent financial modeling skills, with strong attention to detail and high standards for quality

• Outstanding executive-level written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to operate independently with senior stakeholders and manage relationships, deliverables, and timelines with minimal supervision

• Genuine enthusiasm for and proficiency with AI tools; we use AI across the board to move faster and work smarter, and you do too

• Hands-on experience with modern AI tools like Notion AI, Claude, Codex, or similar is expected; you should be actively experimenting with new models and workflows, not just aware they exist

• Deep understanding of AI SaaS business models, monetization strategies, and pricing frameworks, or a strong demonstrated ability to get up to speed quickly

• Data self-sufficiency; knowledge of SQL is required

• Comfort working in a high-growth, constantly changing environment with passion and enthusiasm

• You don’t need to be an AI expert, but you’re curious and willing to adopt AI tools to work smarter and deliver better results

Nice to Haves

• Prior experience in strategy and operations in B2B SaaS businesses

• Prior people management experience

• Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and modeling

Notion is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role’s scope and complexity, and the candidate’s experience and expertise, and may vary from the range provided below. For roles based in San Francisco, the estimated base salary range for this role is $230,000 - $260,000 per year.

You don’t need deep AI expertise for every role, but we do expect every Notino to be intellectually curious, drawn to tinkering and discovery, and excited to use AI as a real collaborator in their work.
