Job description

About the Team

The Transportation team, part of OpenAI's Real Estate & Workplace (REW) organization, supports programs that help employees move efficiently, safely, and reliably across offices and regions. The team partners closely with internal stakeholders to improve the employee transportation experience and ensure transportation considerations are incorporated into broader workplace planning.

About the Role

As a Business Operations Partner, Transportation Program, you will help strengthen how the Transportation team works across the company. You will focus on cross-functional coordination, stakeholder support, communication, and operational follow-through.

We're looking for people who enjoy solving problems, building relationships, bringing order to ambiguity, and helping teams operate effectively. You will serve as a trusted partner to internal teams, help surface and organize feedback, connect stakeholders to the right resources, and improve visibility across transportation priorities.

This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.

In this role, you will:
  • Build strong working relationships across REW, including Events, Design & Construction, Food, Security, Facilities, and Workplace Operations.
  • Partner with teams across the company to understand transportation-related needs, coordinate next steps, and ensure transportation considerations are reflected in broader workplace planning.
  • Represent the Transportation team in meetings, planning discussions, and cross-functional initiatives as needed.
  • Gather input, questions, and feedback from employees and internal partners, summarize nuanced issues clearly, and route requests to the appropriate owner, resource, or process.
  • Track open items and help ensure timely follow-up across stakeholders and team priorities.
  • Support internal team planning through trackers, documentation, notes, timelines, and action items.
  • Help organize recurring business rhythms, project milestones, operational priorities, and readiness activities tied to office openings, moves, or workplace changes.
  • Draft clear internal communications, updates, FAQs, and guidance materials that help partners understand available transportation programs, processes, and tools.
  • Improve internal processes that help the team stay organized, responsive, and able to support a smooth employee transportation experience as the company grows.
You might thrive in this role if you:
  • Have 4+ years of experience in business operations, workplace operations, program coordination, employee experience, or similar roles.
  • Bring strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize complex or nuanced topics clearly.
  • Are highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities while following through reliably.
  • Build trust across teams and are comfortable partnering with internal stakeholders in sensitive or nuanced situations.
  • Navigate ambiguity with sound judgment, curiosity, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Have experience working in workplace, hospitality, real estate, operations, internal service environments, or cross-functional programs.
  • Are comfortable using project management tools, spreadsheets, and workflow systems to create clarity and momentum.
  • Are able to travel at minimum 1-2 times per quarter and support transportation needs across APAC, LATAM, and EMEA.
