Job summary

Plug is seeking a Business Operations Analyst to join our Operations team onsite in Sawtelle. You will own analytics and reporting, building dashboards in BI tools and presenting insights to leadership.

The role emphasizes AI-driven automation and translating data into actionable business recommendations. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to define metrics, support KPI tracking, and deliver executive-ready slides and reports.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in business operations, data analytics, strategy & ops, or a similar analytical role.
• Hands-on comfort building dashboards in a BI tool (Metabase, Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent).
• Curiosity and hands-on comfort with AI tools for analysis and workflow automation.
• Strong slide-building and communication skills — you can turn a messy dataset into something a VP can read in ten seconds.
• Business acumen: you understand why a metric matters to the business, not just how to compute it.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain BI dashboards (Metabase/Snowflake or equivalent) covering auction performance, dealer operations, vehicle flow, and pricing.

The Opportunity

You'll report to the Director of Business Operations and be the go-to person for turning data into decisions. You'll build and maintain the dashboards and models that track how the business is performing, prepare the analysis and slides that go in front of leadership, and use AI tools - including building your own lightweight agents and automations over time - to enhance your workflow and support broader AI adoption across the organization.

You'll support the Director of BizOps on cross-functional initiatives and KPI tracking, bringing depth and speed on the numbers to the work.

What You’ll Own

Analytics & Reporting

• Build and maintain BI dashboards (Metabase/Snowflake or equivalent) covering auction performance, dealer operations, vehicle flow, and pricing

• Define and track success metrics for BizOps-led initiatives, so leaders always know whether a project is actually working

AI & Workflow Automation

• Use AI tools to speed up and automate recurring analysis and reporting work.

• Build lightweight agents or automated pipelines for repeatable requests.

• Bring a builder's mindset to your own workflow and workflow of other teams

Analysis & Business Partnership

• Run deep-dive analyses to explain why a metric moved

• Translate data into a clear point of view for non-technical stakeholders

What You Are

• 2-3 years of experience in business operations, data analytics, strategy & ops, or a similarly analytical role (marketplace or automotive experience a plus, not required).

• Hands-on comfort building dashboards in a BI tool (Metabase, Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent).

Compensation and Benefits

Annual salary: L2 $85,000 - $105,000

Salary ranges reflect independent, third-party benchmarking against national compensation data. Where an individual's actual offer falls within that range depends on a combination of factors, including relevant experience, specialized skills, training and qualifications, current business needs, and prevailing market conditions. Ranges are reviewed periodically and may be adjusted to reflect changing market conditions.

This full-time position is based in Sawtelle (between Santa Monica and West Los Angeles) and is an in-person role.
