Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Annapolis Junction, MD, is seeking a Business Management Analyst-Accounting to support the Accounting department and report to the Billing Manager. The role focuses on invoicing, billing accuracy, and intercompany transfers within contract costs.

You will work with Cost Control Analysts and program customers, prepare final invoices, respond to billing inquiries, support audits (DCAA), and participate in special projects while using Excel and ERP tools like SAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field from an accredited institution with 2+ years of financial work experience.
• Basic understanding of Government Compliance and accounting processes related to billing.
• Experience with payroll, billing or invoice processing and strong Excel skills (Pivot tables, lookups, VBA).

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation, analysis and reconciliation of Final Invoices.
• Ensure accurate billing submissions across cost types and intercompany transfers.
• Collaborate with Cost Control Analysts and program customers to ensure timely checklists and documentation.
• Communicate status and issues with Billing Leads and colleagues; support audits and special projects.

We are looking for you to join our team as a Business Management Analyst-Accounting based out of Annapolis Junction, MD. This position offers the 9/80 Schedule.

What You’ll get to Do

The Business Management Analyst - Accounting will support the Accounting department and report to the Billing Manager.

Roles and responsibilities for the Analyst include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assist with preparation, analysis and reconciliations related to issuing Final Invoices.
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation, reconciliation, and submission of customer Billings (Cost Type, time and Material, Firm Fixed Price, Progress payments, Milestones & Performance Based Payments, Shippers) and Intercompany Accounting Transfers, in support of Business Sector contracts.
• Work collaboratively with our internal Cost Control Analysts & Program customers to ensure checklists and required supporting documentation and received in a timely manner and are reviewed in detailed to confirm completeness.
• Communicate effectively and frequently with Billing Leads and team members as to status and any known issues or delays.
• Assists with preparation, analysis and reconciliations related to issuing Final Invoices.
• Support internal and external customers' requests regarding billing and related issues.
• Support DCAA billing audit inquiries, internal and external financial audits.
• Complete special projects as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management, Marketing, etc.) or Business adjacent degree (Mathematics, Risk Management) from an accredited institution with a minimum of 2 years of financial work experience.
• Basic understanding of Government Compliance.
• Experience with payroll, billing and/or invoice processing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, chart generation, VBA macros, etc.)
• US citizenship is required.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret level security clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• SAP, COGNOS, or similar ERP software experience.
• Prior billing, finance, economics and or accounting experience
• Experience in data mining and database management.
• Professional experience in Aerospace & Defense, Financial Services, or Telecommunications.
• Earned Value Management (EVM) customer reporting, COBRA experience.

Primary Level Salary Range: $75,800.00 - $113,800.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
