Amazon in Arlington, VA is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer for BEAM to build a curated data catalog and reusable analytics assets for agent-based surfaces. You will design MCP interfaces and tools, enabling LLM agents to query BEAM data with trust and determinism.
You will collaborate with data scientists and product managers to translate analytical needs into self-service capabilities, ensuring observability and guardrails to prevent misreporting across CX and business trends.
Amazon's Customer Experience and Business Trends (CXBT) organization is hiring a Business Intelligence Engineer for its Benchmarking, Economics, Analytics and Measurement (BEAM) team. BEAM turns fragmented internal and external data into decision‑grade intelligence for senior leaders across Amazon.
This role anchors our Intelligence Engine initiative: the layer that makes BEAM's data and analytical depth pluggable into agent‑based surfaces. Rather than building one‑off dashboards, you'll build a curated data catalog and reusable analytical assets, then expose them to LLM agents through MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers and skills so that stakeholders can ask questions in natural language and get trustworthy, deterministic answers grounded in BEAM's data.
We're looking for a strong BIE who is genuinely excited about the agentic/GenAI shift and understands the mechanics behind it, not just the buzzwords. You should be comfortable designing the data and tooling that make an LLM agent reliable: clean metric stores, well‑defined tools/skills, MCP interfaces, and guardrails that keep the agent from hallucinating numbers.
