As a Business Intelligence Developer, you will collaborate with business stakeholders, data analysts, database administrators, and technical teams to understand reporting requirements and deliver reliable, accurate, and user-friendly BI solutions. You will work with data from multiple sources, develop efficient data models, create compelling visualizations, and implement reporting standards that improve visibility into business performance.

The ideal candidate should have practical knowledge of Power BI, DAX, Power Query, SQL, data modeling, and dashboard development. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate technical findings in clear business language are essential for success in this position.

At The Elite Job, we value innovation, collaboration, continuous learning, and the effective use of technology to solve business challenges. We welcome professionals who are passionate about analytics and eager to contribute to the development of impactful business intelligence solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Power BI Dashboard and Report Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, scorecards, and business performance visualizations using Microsoft Power BI.

  • Translate business requirements into practical reporting solutions that provide meaningful insights for managers, executives, and operational teams.

  • Create clear, intuitive, and visually appealing reports that communicate complex information effectively.

  • Develop reusable report templates and standardized dashboard layouts to maintain consistency across departments.

  • Implement interactive features such as drill-through pages, slicers, filters, tooltips, bookmarks, and dynamic measures.

Data Modeling and Transformation

  • Connect Power BI to multiple data sources, including SQL databases, Excel files, cloud platforms, enterprise applications, and approved data services.

  • Use Power Query to extract, clean, transform, and prepare data for reporting and analysis.

  • Develop efficient data models, including appropriate relationships, dimensions, fact tables, and date tables.

  • Apply star-schema modeling principles where appropriate to improve report performance and maintainability.

  • Validate source data, investigate inconsistencies, and ensure reporting outputs accurately reflect underlying business information.

DAX and Analytical Calculations

  • Develop and optimize DAX measures, calculated columns, and calculated tables where appropriate.

  • Create calculations for key performance indicators (KPIs), revenue analysis, operational metrics, trend analysis, growth rates, and comparative reporting.

  • Implement time-intelligence calculations for year-to-date, month-to-date, year-over-year, and period-over-period analysis.

  • Apply appropriate filter context, row context, and context-transition techniques to produce accurate analytical results.

  • Review and optimize DAX expressions to improve calculation efficiency and report responsiveness.

SQL and Data Integration

  • Write and optimize SQL queries to retrieve, filter, join, aggregate, and validate data from relational databases.

  • Collaborate with data engineers and database administrators to understand data structures, source systems, and refresh requirements.

  • Support the integration of data from multiple business applications and reporting environments.

  • Investigate data-quality issues and coordinate with relevant teams to resolve discrepancies.

  • Document data sources, transformation rules, business logic, and reporting dependencies.

Power BI Service and Deployment

  • Publish and manage reports and dashboards in Power BI Service.

  • Configure scheduled refreshes, gateways, workspaces, apps, and access permissions as required.

  • Implement row-level security (RLS) and other appropriate access controls to protect confidential business information.

  • Support development, testing, and production environments using suitable deployment and change-management practices.

  • Monitor refresh failures, troubleshoot data connectivity issues, and resolve report-access or performance problems.

Performance Optimization and Quality Assurance

  • Monitor dashboard performance and identify opportunities to reduce loading times and improve user experience.

  • Use Power BI performance-analysis tools and appropriate optimization techniques to diagnose bottlenecks.

  • Conduct data validation, functional testing, and user acceptance testing before releasing reports.

  • Investigate discrepancies between dashboards, source systems, and existing business reports.

  • Maintain high standards of data accuracy, consistency, reliability, and presentation quality.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Business Support
