Job summary

NT Concepts is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer to design, build, and maintain BI reports that transform complex data into actionable insights for government stakeholders. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate analytics objectives into clear reporting solutions.

The role requires TS/SCI with Poly, hybrid work onsite in Vienna, VA and Chantilly, VA with up to 3 days remote. Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, Grafana, SQL, and AWS is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, Grafana.
• Connect to and extract data from databases within AWS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, RDS).
• Develop data models, queries, and ETL processes to support dashboards and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, and translate analytics objectives.
• Ensure reports and dashboards are optimized for performance, usability, and accessibility.
• Document reporting processes, data sources, and dashboard functionality for knowledge sharing.
• Provide training and support to end-users on dashboard navigation and data interpretation.

The Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining reports and dashboards that transform complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders and decision-makers. The ideal candidate brings practical experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Grafana), combined with foundational knowledge in data manipulation, database connectivity, and AWS cloud infrastructure. The Business Intelligence Developer works collaboratively with business stakeholders and technical teams to translate analytics objectives and business requirements into clear, easily digestible reporting mechanisms that drive informed decision-making and support mission-critical operations.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, Grafana, and other visualization tools
• Connect to and extract data from various databases within AWS cloud infrastructure (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, RDS)
• Perform data manipulation, transformation, and preparation to ensure data quality and accuracy for reporting purposes
• Translate business requests and data analytics objectives into demonstrable, user-friendly reporting mechanisms
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand business needs, and define key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Develop and maintain data models, queries, and ETL processes to support dashboard and reporting requirements
• Ensure reports and dashboards are optimized for performance, usability, and accessibility
• Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support business decision-making
• Document reporting processes, data sources, and dashboard functionality for knowledge sharing and maintenance
• Provide training and support to end-users on dashboard navigation and data interpretation
• Monitor and troubleshoot data quality issues, working with technical teams to resolve discrepancies
• Participate in agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver analytics solutions

Basic Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience with designing, building, and maintaining data analytics reports for business intelligence and real-time system infrastructure monitoring (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Grafana, Splunk, etc.)
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (additional experience may be substituted for education)
• Experience working with databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, etc.)to include:
• Basic understanding of relational database design principles (e.g. Normalization vs Denormalization)
• General knowledge of database administration concepts (e.g. users, schemas, constraints)
• Experience working with data from Excel, Jira, ServiceNow, etc.
• Experience working in a fast-paced agile environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience designing, building, and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports
• Strong knowledge of:
• DAX, Power Query, SQL
• Experience working with large datasets and multiple source systems
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience with Cloud Providers, preferably AWS

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at times.
