Job summary

sbxgplusllc is seeking a Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and analytics on cloud platforms. You will work with Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI, and integrate Salesforce data to support program needs.

Responsibilities include building ETL/ELT pipelines, ingesting data from Salesforce, developing data models for Power BI, and optimizing performance and cost across the data stack.

Qualifications

• Strong Power BI dashboard development experience.
• Experience managing Power BI datasets and dataflows, DirectQuery/Import models.
• Experience with structured and semi-structured data formats (JSON, CSV, Parquet, etc.).
• Strong experience designing data pipelines with Azure Synapse, Snowflake or Databricks workflows.
• SQL mastery with ETL/ELT, performance tuning.
• Proficiency in Python or Scala for data processing.
• Hands-on PL/SQL development experience.
• Experience with SQL, T-SQL, and data query optimization.
• Solid understanding of Azure cloud services (Synapse, Data Lake, Data Factory, Azure SQL).
• Experience with ADLS/Delta Lake and data warehousing concepts.

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on Azure Synapse and related services.
• Build data ingestion workflows from Salesforce and APIs, ensuring schema alignment and performance.

The Department of health and human services requires the assistance of a contract resource to serve as a Data Engineer responsible for the design, development, and optimization of data pipelines and analytics solutions/dashboards on cloud-based data platforms. This work will leverage Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI, and integrations with Salesforce or Curam/Oracle to support program needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze source systems and design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and related Azure services.
• Build and manage data ingestion workflows from Salesforce, including API integrations, schema alignment, and performance tuning.
• Develop and maintain data models, data transformations, and semantic layers to support Power BI reporting and analytics.
• Optimize Synapse pipelines, SQL queries, and data storage for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures, Salesforce API issues, and Power BI dataset/dataflow refresh problems.
