Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona is seeking a skilled BI/Data Warehouse Analyst to develop reports, map data across source systems, and design new BI solutions using warehouse tools. The role supports multiple levels of complexity and collaborates with IT, analytics, and business teams.
The position offers a hybrid work arrangement within Arizona, with onsite requirements as described. Strong SQL, data modeling, and BI reporting background are preferred for progression across Levels 1–4.

Develops reports using data-warehouse and data-access tools; provides user support and training for data structure and use of Data Warehouse; creates mapping specifications from source systems to new and expanded business-intelligence systems, and designs, tests and implements new business intelligence systems.
Level 1 - Performs job functions under close supervision or peer reviewAnalysis Track and resolve processing problems, coordinating with all areas Track and resolve programming problems Develop and document business objectives, processing requirements, and specifications Develop and document system and data diagrams, program flows Develop test plans, scripts and test bases Analyze files and map data from one system to another Draft or modify internal procedures; implement new procedures including workflows, manuals and training Utilize corporate data tools to ensure quality and documentation standards are achieved. Provide backup support to SME’s in two or more of areas as assigned: BI Project Management BI Production Reporting Application Architecture Application Architecture and Support Training Provide backup support to SME’s in one or more datamarts Technical/Programming Learn process and data flow; and how it affects surrounding systems and operational areas. Map logical data models to physical data models. Maintain existing programs/routine changes and major enhancements. Document programs, systems, manuals, etc. Review code for proper design, standards, content and functionality. Design and code complex programs. Responsible for production cycles, solving abends and notification of problems. Responsible for production support documentation in accordance with department standards and industry best practices. Review code for proper design, standards, content and functionality. Program in multiple programming languages (SQL, VB.net, 3GL/4GL). Translate business needs into technical solutions with knowledge of Bl Tools (SQL, ETL, and OLAP). Implement and maintain operational and disaster-recovery procedures. Manage Metadata Conduct capacity planning Write or modify procedures for internal use, user operational areas, and computer operations, as applicable. Utilize ODBC and OLE DB methodology.
Level 2 - Performs job functions with general supervision Train data warehouse users Ensure the department leverages internal tools and applications effectively Build, support, and maintain moderately complex processes, programs, and data Participate or lead small to medium scoped projects Create moderately complex ad-hoc reports for internal usage and external usage Research and become proficient in two or more of areas as assigned: BI Project Management BI Production Reporting Application Architecture Application Architecture and Support Training Research and become proficient in one or more data marts
Level 3 - Performs job functions with minimal supervision Facilitate and/or create new procedures and processes that support advancing technologies or capabilities Build, support, and maintain moderately complex processes, programs, and data Evaluate high-level project information and assess project components to forecast work effort required Provide peer-level review and mentoring to levels 1 and 2 Participate and/or lead large- or complex-technical projects Create complex ad-hoc reports for internal usage and external usage Act as subject matter expert in two or more of areas as assigned: BI Project Management BI Production Reporting Application Architecture Application Architecture and Support Training Act as subject matter expert in one or more Data Marts
Level 4 - Performs job functions in a lead capacity Serve as primary operational contact for internal and external customers when needed or in the absence of the Manager Ensure Service Level Agreements between department and operational or technical areas are met Lead, develop and mentor staff by providing opportunities for growth through delegation, training, and assignment to various project teams Inform the manager of any issues impacting the efficient and effective performance of the department—including system, resource, and informational barriers; Provide timely feedback to team member on performance Assist the manager in the day-to-day operations of the department

The position requires a full-time work schedule. Full-time is defined as working at least 40 hours per week, plus any additional hours as requested or as needed to meet business requirements. Participate in on-call rotation Perform all other duties as assigned competencies REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
