Job description

The decisions our leaders make every day, from operations and growth strategy to customer experience, depend on having the right data at the right time. As our Business Intelligence Analyst, you'll be the person who transforms complex data into clear insights, helping teams across the organization make smarter, faster decisions that drive measurable business results.

This is a role for someone who enjoys owning projects from discovery through delivery, partnering directly with stakeholders, and seeing their work influence real-world outcomes.

What You'll Actually Do
  • Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports used across the business to monitor performance and support decision-making.
  • Partner with business leaders and department stakeholders to understand challenges, uncover reporting needs, and deliver practical, user-friendly solutions.
  • Manage BI projects from initial requirements gathering through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing enhancement.
  • Connect Power BI to our Databricks environment and develop scalable, well-structured data models that support reporting needs.
  • Create and maintain star schema data models, advanced DAX calculations, and Power Query (M) transformations.
  • Administer Power BI Service, including workspace management, report deployment, refresh schedules, row-level security, and governance.
  • Analyze trends, identify opportunities, and present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate with teammates to establish and improve BI standards, documentation, and best practices.
What Success Looks Like

Within your first 90 days, you'll have:

  • Built strong working relationships with key business stakeholders across multiple departments.
  • Taken ownership of several active reporting initiatives and delivered at least one end-to-end Power BI solution.
  • Developed a clear understanding of our Databricks environment, core datasets, and reporting standards.
  • Become a trusted resource for translating business questions into actionable reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Contributed improvements to existing dashboards, data models, or BI processes that increase usability, performance, or adoption.
What You'll Actually Do in Your First 30 Days
  • Meet with department leaders and key stakeholders to understand existing reports, business priorities, and recurring reporting challenges.
  • Learn the Databricks data environment, reporting architecture, and Power BI governance standards.
  • Review current dashboards and identify opportunities for performance, usability, or visualization improvements.
  • Take ownership of your first reporting project, including requirements gathering, development planning, and stakeholder communication.
Must Have
  • 2+ years of hands‑on experience building reports and dashboards in Power BI.
  • Strong expertise in DAX, Power Query (M), and dimensional data modeling.
  • Experience using Databricks as a reporting data source, including writing SQL against Databricks tables.
  • Experience administering Power BI Service, including workspaces, refresh schedules, security, and deployments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading reporting or analytics projects from stakeholder request through final delivery.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with Databricks SQL, Unity Catalog, or Power BI performance optimization on large datasets.
  • Experience working with Agile tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Familiarity with the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Experience presenting analytical findings to executive or senior leadership audiences.
Why Join Us

You'll have the opportunity to work directly with decision-makers, see the impact of your work, and help shape how data is used across the organization. This is a role where strong ideas, curiosity, and practical problem-solving are valued as much as technical expertise.

  • Location: Chicago (onsite)
  • Compensation: Starting at $90,000 (based on experience)
  • Direct Reports: None
