Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) delivers high‑impact technical solutions to complex national security issues and serves government customers in the US and abroad. The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division (JOID) provides expert support services to the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets, and the Industry and Security Analysis Group (ISAG) within JOID promotes and protects the U.S. industrial base.
The Business Intelligence Analyst will support the Global Investments and Economic Security mission to protect U.S. national security interests and Defense Industrial Base equities from adversarial capital, foreign influence, and strategic risk exposure. The analyst conducts Foreign Ownership, Control, or Influence (FOCI) and economic security due diligence assessments of risk associated with foreign investment, corporate ownership structures, and industrial base dependencies. The role conducts business intelligence, economic, and threat analysis to develop analytic products, integrating subject‑matter expertise and market analysis and using business intelligence tools to connect diverse data sources from government, commercial, and open sources. The analyst researches and assesses foreign companies’ business operations and foreign investment activity that may present national security considerations, and collaborates across relevant offices within the Department.
