Travelers internship program in data analytics is based in Hartford, CT and St. Paul, MN, offering real project work and hands-on experience in analytics.

Qualifications

• GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
• Pursuing or has a Bachelor's or Master's in STEM.
• Data warehouse and ETL knowledge with Python/SQL/Snowflake.
• Knowledge of data lakes and Databricks experience.
• Experience with dashboards, scorecards or descriptive reporting.
• Knowledge of multidimensional data and cloud-enabled analytics languages.
• Familiarity with Agile concepts and workflows.

Responsibilities

The hourly salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual hourly rate for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

The Business Insights & Analytics Leadership Development Program (BI&ALDP) internship is built for analytically driven students who are serious about launching a career in data and analytics. This is not a passive, observational internship - you will do real work, solve real business problems, and be evaluated like a professional from day one. Over 10 weeks, you and your cohort of peers will be embedded in Travelers' data and analytics community, gaining hands-on experience in one or more of our core analytics disciplines while building the technical and professional skills that define a successful career. Technical training is delivered to you by current full-time BI&ALDP participants - those who were recently in your position - giving you an authentic, peer-informed perspective on what it takes to grow here.

Housing: The internship program is based in Hartford, CT and St. Paul, MN. Positions are available in our business units and corporate departments. Subsidized apartments are available for students who live beyond a commutable distance from Hartford, CT or St. Paul, MN. Positions are available from June through early August.

What Will You Do?

Real project work aligned to active business needs across Travelers' analytics functions. Technical training taught by full-time BI&ALDP participants. Formal performance reviews that give you honest, structured feedback on your growth. Leadership exposure through company-wide events including the Intern Symposium and community outreach initiatives, where you will interact with leaders and a cohort across the enterprise. A collaborative capstone presentation where you and your fellow interns develop and present solutions to relevant business and analytics challenges. Leverage modern analytical and artificial intelligence (AI) tools/platforms with the ability to apply critical thinking to evaluate limitations related to quality and accuracy of AI-assisted outputs. At the close of the internship, high performing interns are eligible to interview for a full-time offer to join the BI&ALDP - making these 10 weeks one of the most important career opportunities of your academic journey. Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater preferred. Pursuing or obtained a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a STEM related discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math). Data warehouse and ETL understanding with Python, SQL, and/or Snowflake. Knowledge of data lakes and/or experience with Databricks. Exposure to dashboarding, scorecards or other descriptive reporting tools. Knowledge of multidimensional data and open-source cloud-enabled analytical programming languages. Familiarity with agile concepts & workflows.

What is a Must Have?

Pursuing or obtained a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
