Job summary

ABB Drive Products is seeking a Business Development Manager for Mining and Aggregates. You will drive brand and product acceptance of ABB Low Voltage Drives, PLCs, and HMI across AVL and Frame Agreement programs with end-user mining facilities.

You will collaborate with Channel Sales and OEM teams to execute industry programs, translate complex technical needs into compelling value propositions, and help ABB achieve segment goals while traveling extensively across the continental US.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience, or an associate's degree with 10+ years, or HS diploma with 12+ years in capital equipment sales.
  • Knowledge of mining industrial equipment applications (conveyors, crushers, feeders, screens, mills, dust collection, bucket elevators, hoists, etc.).
  • Ability to assess customer needs and present technical and non-technical solutions.
  • Experience achieving AVL product specifications from customers.
  • Willingness to travel up to 70% across the continental US and hold a valid US driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Generate brand and product acceptance of ABB Low Voltage Drives, PLC, and HMI in Mining and Aggregates customers.
  • Coordinate with Channel Sales and OEM teams to support industry programs and drive engagement with channel partners.
  • Document customer stakeholders and buying processes; map values to ABB offerings for AVL/FA alignment.
  • Develop go-to-market approaches and segment strategies to meet Mining and Aggregates goals.

This position reports to:

Segment Director, Food & Beverage

Your role and responsibilities:

Generate brand and product acceptance of ABB Low Voltage Drives, PLC, and HMI products through AVL (authorized vendor lists) and FA (Frame agreements) at associated end-user Mining and Aggregates customers and production facilities.

Close coordination with Channel Sales, Channel Program and OEM Team peers to create and support Mining and Aggregates industry programs to drive strategic engagement with aligned Channel Partners.

Through a disciplined sales process, documenting customer stakeholders, buying behaviors (local authority vs. CAPEX/project approval process), corporate initiatives (respective areas of focus within their business regarding applications), understanding of incumbent brand preferences as the specific value pertains to their organization.

Clearly communicating attack vectors through product positioning to execute on ABB placement within AVL (authorized vendor lists) and FA (Frame agreements).

Leverage knowledge of Mining and Aggregates industry trends and customers need to develop and deliver compelling value propositions.

Leading execution sub-segment strategy and defining go-to-market approaches to achieve the Mining and Aggregates industry segment goals.

Qualifications for the role:

Bachelor's degree and 8 years of experience, Associate's degree and 10+ years of experience or High School Diploma and 12+ years of experience with capital assist sales in the industrial Mining and Aggregates industry

In-depth knowledge and expertise in various mining industrial equipment applications such as conveyors, crushers, apron/belt/vibrating/wobbler and grizzly feeders, screens & mineral sizers, grinding mills, dust collection systems, bucket elevators, hoists/winches, stackers/reclaimers, compressors, pumps, fans, coolers & preheaters and adjacent equipment and processes required.

Demonstrated success in assessing and analyzing customer need and projected requirements and providing application solutions through interpreting, translating, and explaining detailed technical ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.

Demonstrated success in achieving AVL product specification from customers by providing application solutions for Mining and Aggregates industry segments.

Demonstrated experience in establishing and using reverse funnel to calculate quarterly and annual goals and targets.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Salesforce.com use, experience, credentials, skills, exposure.

This role requires 70% travel across the continental united states, thus requiring a valid, US Driver's License.

Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $100,500 and $160,800 annually and is bonus eligible.
