The EP-VS Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for development of the Low Voltage product portfolio in Data Center and semiconductor vertical, as a liaison to and supporting the sales force in the United States. The product portfolio includes but is not limited to Low Voltage switchgear (UL1558), Switchboards, Panelboards, Busway and downstream equipment, Distribution transformers, protection and automation devices and other ancillary MV and LV products that are routinely part of complete electrical packaged substation solutions.

You will make impact with the following responsibilities:

  • This Business Development position has the responsibility to both “support and drive” profitable sales growth of the LV and LV substation portfolio.
  • This includes, but not limited to, the ability to: proactively plan, create demand, influence specifications, get Siemens LV and LV substation products in approved customer list, in target & penetrate accounts, drive promotional activities, work and sell collaboratively, create budget proposals, manage an opportunity pipeline, conduct training, perform customer presentations, as well as handle numerous other business development and sales related activities.
  • (A heavy emphasis on technical specification and account influence to drive towards a preferential position.) Part of the daily work includes clients contact and active involvement during the sales and execution phase.
  • This position requires candidate to help business unit setting up annual Vertical targets based on the market dynamics and then later help business unit to successfully meet the set targets.
  • Accurate monthly forecasting of the projects in the pipeline is a crucial ask for this posting.
  • The BDM will act as a business unit liaison and support the Sales Account Managers and Channel agents who directly call on and manage End Users, Electrical Contractors along with engineering procurement and construction (EPC) firms.
  • In addition, the BDM helps guide the Business units by providing marketing advice and leadership to ensure overall market effectiveness. The BDM should develop account development plans (market analysis and definition of strategic objectives, transparency through acquisition of projects in the CRM tool.
  • Successful candidate will be responsible for the technical support for the customer in terms of the products and their integration into power supply systems, support for prequalification processes at the Key and Focus Accounts.
  • Candidate should have basic project Management skills to support the project management activities.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or related.
  • 7 plus years of business development / technical sales experience in the Data center and semiconductor verticals and intense product knowledge of MV Switchgear specially GIS and MV solutions
  • Basic Knowledge of ANSI -NEMA standards. Know-how of IEC standard will be an advantage.
  • A thorough understanding of and experience in working with all types of MV power electrical distribution systems is critical, including electrical system architecture, experience in E-House /PEC technology, protective relaying, control schemes and equipment designs and applications
  • Ability to be able to effectively demonstrate and conduct hands on demonstrations of the equipment
  • Ability to effectively conduct product training to Sales and customers
  • Experience working with clients at executive, engineering, and operations level.
  • Experience with contract negotiations
  • Experience with both End User as well as EPC firms
  • Ability to make excellent presentations to customers and EPCs.
  • Willingness to travel from 30-50% of the time including some international travel
  • Must be eligible to work in the US with no sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business administration.
  • High self-motivation, a self-starter, and can effectively work in an organizational matrix environment.
  • Characterized by a high level of communication readiness, analytical skills, team orientation, resilience and social competence.
  • A “Hunters” drive and motivation to win orders (this is not an account maintenance role).
  • Spanish speaking candidates as second language in addition to be fluency in English.
  • US citizens will be preferred due to the need of handling customer base.

The pay range for this position is $126,980 - $217,680. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
