Responsibilities

  • Support and execute business development strategies aligned with the Capital Markets practice’s regional and global priorities.
  • Lead the preparation of high-quality pitches, proposals, RFP responses, and client presentations, working closely with partners and stakeholders.
  • Drive client targeting and cross-selling initiatives, identifying opportunities to deepen relationships and expand key accounts.
  • Develop and maintain marketing collateral, including deal experience, credentials, and practice materials.
  • Contribute to profile-raising initiatives, including thought leadership, campaigns, and market-facing content.
  • Support client feedback programmes and track BD opportunities through CRM systems to ensure effective follow-up and pipeline management.
  • Manage directory and award submissions, ensuring strong market positioning across key rankings.
  • Collaborate with global BD teams, practice groups, and business services to deliver integrated, cross-border initiatives.
  • Analyze market trends and competitive intelligence to identify growth opportunities and inform strategy.
  • Support the ongoing development of BD infrastructure, processes, and best practices across the practice group.

Job description

We are partnered with an Am Law top 10 firm in its search for a Manager, Business Development to support its market-leading Capital Markets practice. This is a global role with a strong client-facing focus, incorporating strategic client development, integrated marketing campaigns, and profile-raising initiatives alongside core business development responsibilities.

Based in New York, you will play a key role in driving the growth of the Americas Capital Markets group, working closely with partners, senior BD leadership, and global colleagues. The role supports a broad range of sub-practices—including equity, high yield, derivatives, securitization, and public company advisory—offering exposure to a highly sophisticated and fast-moving area of the market.

We are keen to speak with seasoned Business Development Senior Specialists looking to take the next step, as well as those with existing managerial experience looking to expand their remit within a global, high-performing team. Prior exposure to capital markets, banking, or wider financial services sectors will be highly advantageous.
