  • Full-Time (Exempt – Administrative)/At-Will

Purpose:

  • The Business Development Manager will drive company growth by identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities, building relationships, and developing strategies to achieve revenue goals and expand the customer base.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain customer relationships and retention plans.
  • Proactively communicate with customers to identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Participate in industry related functions to market the company’s capabilities and capacity.
  • Directly originate project sales including responding to RFPs, executing business development campaigns in targeted market segments, implementing contact plans with customers, developing, and drafting project proposals, interfacing with multiple stakeholders to analyze available data.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of, and become expert in, target regions and markets, including understanding regulatory incentives, and co-development opportunities.
  • Identify and implement marketing initiatives for prefab markets, including developing marketing materials, presenting to industry, while identifying competitive differentiators.
  • Track, update, coordinate, and originate opportunities directly and with the team. Collaborate with other company team members to provide a unified customer approach.
  • Other duties will be assigned as needed by company management.

  • Ability to read and interpret legal documentation including, but not limited to: NDAs, MSAs, and other associated contracts for the purposes of understanding timelines, business requirements, and scopes of work.

Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university with a concentration in engineering, business, marketing, communications, or a related field of study is preferred.
  • Candidates with demonstrated business development experience will be considered in lieu of educational preference.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of business development/sales experience in the heavy civil construction industry preferred.
  • Proven track record of effective communications with project stakeholders, including customers, vendors, community partners, and E.P.C. prime contractors.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required.
  • Ability to be physically seated for long periods of time in a standard issue desk chair.
  • Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week including weekend assignments when required.
  • Ability to visually tolerate prolonged exposure to computer screens, mobile device (phones, tablets, etc.) screens.
  • Ability to read documents and materials in hard and soft copy form (either naturally or with corrective lenses).
  • Ability to walk, step, climb stairs to access or otherwise move from one location to another which normally involves walking within and around locations and when required to climb and descend stairs to access areas as required.
  • Ability to visually see well (either naturally or with corrective lenses).
  • Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, squat, climb, and sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to and including 50 lb. objects as required.
  • Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all-weather conditions as required.

Travel:

  • Travel required on an as-needed basis.
