Business Development Manager Summary
Position: Full Time Business Development Manager – Dallas, TX. This role focuses on building a portfolio of target customers, educating them about the company’s services, and pursuing growth opportunities through campaigns, events, and proposal coordination.
Responsibilities
- Identify and develop strategic relationships with partners and potential customers.
- Develop a strong pipeline of new customers and projects through direct or indirect contact and prospecting.
- Work with Marketing and Sales to implement business development initiatives and attend events, tradeshows, webinars, presentations, and conferences.
- Generate business through outbound lead activity and research companies to identify new prospects.
- Qualify inbound leads, prioritize opportunities, and mobilize internal resources to accelerate sales cycles.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the company’s range of service offerings.
- Effectively articulate competitive differentiators and value proposition to prospects and existing customers.
- Nurture prospects through in‑person communication and entertainment efforts, tracking activity in the CRM database.
- Establish rapport and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Represent the company at networking functions.
- Manage daily and weekly KPI reports for sales activity, leads, opportunities, closed business, and existing pipeline.
- Perform building take‑offs to obtain accurate footage and measurements for estimating.
- Prepare proposals and present project documentation to clients for review and negotiation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Required Skills
- Proven skills in account development, opportunity qualification, pre‑call planning, call structure/control, and time management.
- Self‑motivated with a diligent work ethic.
- High level of integrity.
- Flexible to travel to regional training courses and events.
- High level of organization and time management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
- Action oriented with a focus on winning more bids.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office, CRM software, PPT, and quotation & presentation preparation skills.
- Basic familiarity with drawings and job specs, and ability to visit job sites and gather details to prepare estimates.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 3–5 years of experience in construction or waterproofing field.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to travel.
