Do you love building relationships in your community?
We've stabilized our Kokomo office and started growing again. Now it needs dedicated focus to see the growth we're after—and we're looking for someone ready to roll up their sleeves and build our referral network. As our Business Development Manager, you're the face of Home Instead in the community-the person who connects hospitals, physicians, social workers, and families to in-home care that helps seniors stay right where they want to be. If you love meeting people, earning trust, and turning relationships into real results, keep reading.
Every day, seniors in the Kokomo area need a way to stay safely in their own homes—and the people who guide those decisions (discharge planners, physicians, social workers, senior living staff) need someone they trust to send families to. That someone is you. You'll build the referral relationships that bring seniors to our care, one genuine connection at a time.
This is a growth role with a real number behind it. You own the referral and revenue targets for your territory, and you'll build the pipeline that hits them - researching new referral sources, nurturing the ones we have, and getting out to meet people face to face. You'll handle the referrals those relationships generate; our Care Advisor team fields general incoming service inquiries, with the office as backup, so you can stay focused on the community relationships only you can build. You'll work closely with your General Manager, but those relationships are yours to own.
The office is stable and growing again, but the referral pipeline still has a lot of room to run - that's the opportunity. You won't inherit a full book of business; you'll build it, one relationship at a time. That's the challenge and the appeal: the chance to put your stamp on a market and watch seniors get the help they need because of relationships you built.

We care about how you work and who you are more than a specific resume. Here’s what matters:
A college degree or equivalent work experience is required, and prior sales, business development, or healthcare experience will help you ramp faster. But what really predicts success here is relationship-building, drive, and follow-through. If you've built something out of relationships before - in any field - tell us about it.
You'll work in a CRM (Salesforce or similar), Microsoft Word and Excel, and Home Instead's internal systems. This role is built to be in the field: expect roughly 90% of your time out in the community and about 10% on marketing and computer work like social media and documentation. That 10% is a small slice, but it's essential and it has to get done. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel throughout your territory are required, along with some evenings and weekends for events and community activities.
"The best business developers in this field aren't the slickest salespeople - they're the ones who genuinely care, show up consistently, and become someone the community trusts. If that's you, and you're ready to roll up your sleeves and help this office grow, I'd love to meet you."
