Job summary

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Coordinator to support our Labor and Employment practice and other groups. The role focuses on planning, coordinating, and advancing client-centric business development strategies in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree, at least three years of professional experience in a professional services setting, and excellent communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher plus three years of professional experience in a relevant setting.
  • Ability to work independently and manage projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues and leadership at all levels.
  • Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel and database applications; able to adapt to new technology.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and coordinate pitches, RFP responses, and presentations under the direction of managers/senior managers.
  • Draft and edit correspondence, PowerPoint presentations and other documents, coordinating with colleagues to format and proofread deliverables to firm standards.
  • Leverage firm tools to manage data, conduct research, and create reports in support of business development activities.
  • Collaborate with marketing and events teams to develop content for events and identify opportunities for practice generation.
  • Assist with budget development, maintenance, and tracking.

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world’s leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a highly motivated Business Development Coordinator to join our award-winning Business Development team, primarily supporting the Labor and Employment practice, among others.

The Business Development Coordinator will support the implementation of business development goals and activities and will be expected to coordinate day-to-day activities at a fast pace. You'll be responsible for assisting in the planning, coordination, and advancement of critical client-centric business development strategies across the department.

Candidates must be self-motivated, responsive, analytical and detail-oriented, and have outstanding organizational skills. This position requires a high energy level and flexibility with overtime.

Maintaining an in-office presence is important to delivering our services through an integrated and collaborative work culture. This position will be resident in our New York, Philadelphia, Princeton, or Washington, DC office and follows a hybrid 3 day in-office schedule.

What You’ll Do
  • Draft and coordinate pitches, RFP responses, and presentations under the direction of managers/ senior managers.
  • Draft and edit correspondence, PowerPoint presentations and visual resources, and other documents, collaborating with colleagues across departments to format, edit, proofread, print, and compile deliverables to firm standards.
  • Leverage firm tools to manage data, conduct research using firm intranet and external platforms, and create reports in support of business development activities.
  • Work in coordination with marketing and events teams to support the development of content for events, identify practice generation targets and opportunities, and conduct event follow-up.
  • Assist with budget development, maintenance, and tracking.
  • Support business development-related operations, including communications, reporting, and experience management.
  • Coordinate responses to ad hoc assignments.

Who We’re Looking For
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant professional experience, preferably in a law firm or other professional services/consulting organization. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Ability to work independently as well as manage projects and assignments in a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and balance competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and proofreading skills and exceptional attention to detail.

For positions in New York, NY, the salary range for this job posting is: $67,400.00 - $107,825.00.

For positions in Princeton, NJ, the salary range for this job posting is: $62,000.00 - $99,200.00.

For positions in Washington, DC, the salary range for this job posting is: $64,700.00 - $103,475.00.

The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
