Job summary

FBT Gibbons LLP is a national law firm seeking a Business Development Coordinator to partner with Marketing, supporting day-to-day BD portfolio objectives and growth across practice groups. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines while working independently.

Base locations include Cincinnati, OH; Columbus, OH; Houston, TX; Indianapolis, IN; or Louisville, KY.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience for the role.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience in B2B professional services or law firm experience preferred.
  • Experience with CRM systems or content databases preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Independent self-starter capable of prioritizing multiple projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Willingness to travel across the firm’s footprint (moderate 10-15%).

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support to the Senior Business Development Manager or Business Development Manager.
  • Assist with client pursuit efforts including marketing and business development tactics.
  • Prepare pitch materials, RFPs, and proposal content alongside attorneys.
  • Create and maintain collateral for Practice Groups and Industry Teams.
  • Assist in onboarding new attorneys by distributing information timely.
  • Collaborate with Legal Practice Assistants to update attorney bios and content.
  • Coordinate and draft submissions for firm profiles, listings, rankings, and awards.
  • Support events, seminars, and webinars with Events Manager and Planners.
  • Assist with managing trade organization relationships and sponsorship benefits.
  • Collaborate on press releases, newsletters, videos, social media, and website content.
  • Proofread and edit marketing materials for clarity and accuracy.
  • Assist in administering select marketing budgets and track expenses.
  • Help prepare materials for business development training and meetings.

We are currently seeking a Business Development Coordinator to partner with our Marketing Department in supporting the day‑to‑day execution of business development portfolio objectives, supporting the growth and visibility across the firm’s practice groups.

The ideal candidate is intellectually curious with a strong desire to expand their knowledge of business development and the legal field. They should be highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. The ability to work independently, stay focused, and adapt quickly to changes is key to success in this role.

This position can be based in Cincinnati, OH; Columbus, OH; Houston, TX; Indianapolis, IN; or Louisville, KY.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day‑to‑day support to the Senior Business Development Manager (SBDM) or Business Development Manager (BDM) in managing timelines and benchmarks for Practice Groups and Industry Teams.
  • Assist with client pursuit efforts including executing marketing and business development tactics, conducting surface‑level research and preparing reports.
  • Support the preparation of pitch materials, Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and proposal content for new business, working closely with the lead SBDM or BDM and assigned attorneys.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining collateral for Practice Groups and Industry Teams, including handouts and website content, to promote the groups and teams.
  • Support the onboarding of new attorneys by gathering, posting, and distributing information in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaborate with Legal Practice Assistants (LPAs) to maintain and update attorney website biographies, including troubleshooting technical issues, proofing content, and making timely updates.
  • Coordinate and draft submissions for annual and unique firm profiles, directory listings, business lists, rankings, and awards. Identify and track other like‑opportunities.
  • Support events, seminars, and webinars by working with the Events Manager and Events Planners for activities driven by Practice Groups and Industry Teams assigned to the SBDM or BDM.
  • Assist with managing trade organization relationships and fulfilling contracted sponsorship benefits, such as coordinating logos, ads, and bios.
  • Collaborate with other marketing team members, as directed by the SBDM or BDM, to support various marketing initiatives and tactics such as press releases, Legal Updates, newsletters, videos, social media, experience capture and website content.
  • Proofread and edit marketing and business development materials for clarity, accuracy and consistency.
  • Assist in administrating select marketing budgets, including conducting budget reconciliations, tracking and monitoring expenses.
  • Help prepare materials for business development training, meetings and presentations.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience in B2B professional services or law firm experience preferred.
  • InterAction, Foundation, or other Client Relationship Management (CRM), experience or content database system experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Highly organized and detail‑oriented, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a deadline‑driven environment.
  • Proven ability to assist multiple individuals of various levels with diverse needs and challenges simultaneously.
  • Independent self‑starter capable of managing and prioritizing multiple projects and priorities.
  • High degree of professionalism when interacting with internal and external clients.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, editing, and proofreading skills required.
  • Ability to think critically, demonstrating intellectual curiosity and solution‑orientation.
  • Ability to work over 40 hours per week and travel as needed across the firm’s footprint (estimate is moderate 10-15%).
