Overview
The Business Development (BD) Associate, reporting to the Engagement Manager (EM), will join a team that uses cutting-edge technology to solve challenges for both the front-end and back-end architecture and deliver exceptional experiences for clients and users. The BD Associate will support the efficient management of business development workflow, finances, and resources to address incoming opportunities, and align with the BD lead and CEM/AP on the overall scope and timeline to support proposal development. The ideal candidate is goal-oriented and organized, with experience in supporting sales, developing proposal responses (RFPs) in healthcare or pharmaceutical industry, and managing projects, tracks, documents, and monitoring tasks.
This remote role prefers candidates based in the Eastern Time Zone, particularly the Philadelphia or New York metro areas.
Responsibilities
- Align with business, clinical, and technology stakeholders on analytics strategies and partner with strategic leaders to identify initiatives that can drive significant business value.
- Assist the CEM/AP to develop contracts, statements of work (SOW), targeted proposals, solutions to complex analytical problems, and detailed responses to RFPs in accordance with applicable program and project governance guidelines, policies, and practices.
- Manage the intake of initiatives and client requests and assist the CEM/AP to develop proposals with detailed timelines and budgets for internal and external clients. Facilitate the scoring, prioritizing, and conversion of proposals to projects.
- Provide information and data analytics for and report to the CEM or research leader, following their directions for project tasks and goals.
- Work with the SVP, Business Development to assist with sales calls, outreach to prospective clients, and BD outreach at medical and industry conferences.
- Prepare and coordinate materials for each client meeting, including presentation slides, reports, handouts, and worksheets.
- Conduct research on each new opportunity and develop material to help prepare the business leaders for initial meetings with new clients.
- Assist BD leadership and the CEM/AP in translating strategic goals and priorities into tactical plans and objectives for the department.
- Develop, coordinate, and organize business and meeting schedules for BD team members, executives, clients and other stakeholders.
- Schedule and plan video conferences, speaking engagements, programs, meetings, conferences, professional development workshops and other project events.
- Provide draft inputs to written products such as literature reviews, progress reports, research reports, briefings, and other key documents.
- Develop and manage project documents, including the project business case, charter, RACI matrix, work breakdown structure, and risks and issues log.
- Drive adoption of agile principles to enable teams to deliver analytic solutions that meet client business and research needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned and be flexible in work hours as needed to support business needs.

Qualifications
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Master's degree preferred)
- Experience and/or Training: 1+ years of experience in sales and marketing within the healthcare domain; 2+ years of progressive project and program management experience in a global organization; experience with data analytics and modeling teams, preferably around healthcare claims data and commercial analytics in life sciences; attention to detail; ability to work independently and as a team; ability to manage multiple priorities; strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with internal and external stakeholders; ability to work in shifts to support a global client base.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in life sciences, healthcare management or similar
- Experience and/or Training: Health sciences industry experience a plus; experience with Big Data and Analytics projects, familiar with Enterprise Data Warehouse and Data Integration platforms
- Licenses/Certificates:
- Technology/Equipment: Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio, SQL queries; ability to learn company software packages
