Job summary

John Knox Village of Central Florida in Orange City seeks an External Marketer/Liaison to plan, develop, implement and analyze community relations marketing efforts. The role builds relationships with discharge planners, social workers, physicians’ practices and the broader community to generate referrals and support census goals.

Reporting to the Vice President of Sales & Marketing, you will coordinate communications, monitor local market conditions, and represent JKV at community events.

• Represent JKV in community events and partnerships.
• Understand insurance contracts, Medicare/Medicaid guidelines, and CMS rules.
• Stay current on state and federal referral regulations.
• Must pass Level 2 background screening.

Job Summary: In keeping with John Knox Village’s goal of improving the lives of the residents we serve, the External Marketer/Liaison is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and analyzing the community relations marketing efforts, campaigns, and related events. The External Marketer/Liaison will establish professional relationships with hospital discharge planners, social workers, case managers, physicians’ practices, and the general community to develop awareness of the healthcare services that JKV provides to the community, generate new referrals to support JKV's census and quality mix goals, and ensure a smooth transition for JKV’s current and future residents. This exempt position reports directly to the Vice President of Sales & Marketing.

Core Competencies/Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Coordinate efforts to maintain an active communication line with external and internal parties, ensuring the success of JKV’s marketing programs and projects.
• Develops and maintains a positive working relationship with current and potential residents, visitors, governmental regulators, the general community, and referral sources.
• Monitors the facility market while maintaining up-to-date information files on behalf of the facility’s primary competitors, referral sources, and general market information, such as local economic conditions and current community health issues.
• Develop and manage strategic outreach initiatives to build, cultivate, and maintain strong referral partnerships with healthcare providers, community organizations, and professional networks. Foster high-value relationships with hospitals, physicians, discharge planners, social workers, senior living communities, home health agencies, rehabilitation providers, elder law attorneys, financial planners, trust officers, insurance professionals, senior support organizations, and civic/community groups to enhance collaboration and referral growth.
• Utilize effective marketing and communication techniques to generate referrals and achieve desired admissions across all levels of the CCRC continuum of care, including Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Home Health, Skilled Nursing, and Rehabilitation. Maintain comprehensive marketing logs, referral records, and follow-up activities while building strong relationships with referral sources and supporting occupancy and census growth.
• Build relationships with program managers and directors in the market and identify, attend, and represent JKV in the community.
• Maintains a broad understanding of insurance contracts and language, Medicare and Medicaid guidelines, CMS guidelines, etc.
• Maintains current knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding referrals, coordination of care and eligibility requirements for Medicare and Medicaid.
