Job summary

Control Risks' Embedded Consulting team is looking for a Business Continuity Specialist to help a technology sector client build its corporate business continuity program. The specialist will act as an executor of workstreams, collaborating with the client's leadership team to develop a fit-for-purpose program and demonstrate value quickly.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years' experience implementing and managing business continuity or resilience programs.
• Strong written and oral communication skills to build relationships and influence decisions.
• Clear executive presence and ability to engage with stakeholders at varying levels.
• Creative thinking and innovative problem solver.
• Experience with commercial Business Continuity tools.
• Experience with Google Suite and Gemini.
• Experience in supporting internal teams to respond and recover from significant disruptive events.
• Ability to dive deep into data, existing processes, people, and technology challenges to identify risks and opportunities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects.
• Ability to travel as needed.

• Following client lead endorsement, pilot new approaches and deliver independently in the following areas: conducting business impact assessments to determine core functions, dependencies, recovery priorities and objectives.
• Conducting risk assessments to identify threats, vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.
• Developing and implementing strategies to minimize customer impacts and ensure timely recovery during disruptions.
• Facilitating business continuity training and awareness.
• Designing and facilitating plan exercises; analyze outcomes to identify gaps and opportunities to strengthen resiliency.
• Managing implementation of new tooling for the Business Continuity function and operationalizing tailored solutions.
• Acting as a thought partner to develop a fit-for-purpose program and right-size resilience solutions.
• Serving as the primary point of contact for BC inquiries across the client enterprise.
• Working with large data sets to provide meaningful reports for informed decision-making.
• Staying current with emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory changes in BC and disaster recovery.

The specialist will primarily be an executor of Business Continuity workstreams, collaborating closely with the client's Business Continuity leadership team to develop a fit-for-purpose program and demonstrate value quickly.

Responsibilities

• Following client lead endorsement, pilot new approaches and deliver independently in the following areas:
• Conducting business impact assessments to determine core business functions, dependencies, priorities for recovery, recovery requirements, and recovery time objective(s).
• Conducting risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities to recovery capabilities and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
• Developing and implementing viable strategies to minimize customer impacts and ensure the timely recovery of core business functions during and after a business disruption.
• Facilitating business continuity training and awareness.
• Designing and facilitating meaningful plan exercises; analyze outcomes to identify trends, weaknesses/gaps, risks, and opportunities to improve plans and strengthen resiliency.
• Manage the implementation of new tooling for the Business Continuity function, working with internal and external partners to operationalize a tool tailored to this client context.
• Act as a thought partner to the client's Business Continuity leadership team to develop a fit-for-purpose program, thinking creatively to right size resilience solutions for this client ecosystem.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for business continuity-related inquiries and support for stakeholders across the client enterprise.
• Work with large amounts of data to provide meaningful reports and support informed decision-making.
• Demonstrate understanding and expertise in emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory changes in business continuity and disaster recovery to continuously improve strategies and support mechanisms within the client organization.

The base salary range for this position is $110,000-130,000 per year. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
