Job summary

Bank of Montreal (BMO) seeks an experienced Relationship Manager to serve a small business client portfolio in Santa Rosa, CA. You will cultivate relationships, build a robust new-biz pipeline, and craft tailored financial solutions while coordinating across internal teams and maintaining strict risk controls.

Qualifications

  • 4–6 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate, build, and manage relationships with a portfolio of small business clients.
  • Build a pipeline of new business and increase BMO’s market share.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to attract new business clients and expand existing relationships.
  • Develop internal and external networks and referral sources.
  • Generate appointments and opportunities through targeted sales efforts.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute business plans and relationship management strategies.
  • Identify prospective customers and cross-sell additional products and services.
  • Build client rapport, credibility, and trust.
  • Understand the local market and develop relationships with centres of influence.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and provide expertise, responsive service, and support.
  • Develop long-term profitable relationships and expand wallet share.
  • Answer inquiries and provide accurate information about business banking products and services.
  • Understand customer needs and offer financial solutions.
  • Resolve or lift issues.
  • Develop solutions and recommendations based on business strategy and stakeholder needs.
  • Provide advice and guidance on implementation of solutions.
  • Analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Monitor and track performance and address issues.
  • Coordinate database management and ensure data governance alignment.
  • Build change management plans and lead or participate in change management activities.
  • Provide input into planning and implementation of operational programs.
  • Execute timely, accurate, and efficient work.
  • Support development and promotion of business/group programs.
  • Follow security, safeguarding, fraud prevention, anti-money laundering, confidentiality, risk, and regulatory procedures.
  • Apply BMO’s Risk Management Framework and make sound, risk-informed decisions.
