Job summary

Community Financial System, Inc. (CFSI) is seeking a diligent Loan Processor/Analyst for its Business Banking team. You will interpret and process loan applications, verify data, and track all required materials for submissions.

Collaborate with Lenders and Branch Managers to ensure timely completion and regulatory compliance. Role requires 2+ years of banking lending experience, strong analytic and communication skills, and proficiency with MS Word/Excel.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Business or related field with lending/credit experience required.
  • Minimum 2 years of bank lending/credit analysis experience.
  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar and mathematics; strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and process Business Banking loan applications using NextGen platform with accuracy.
  • Identify missing information and track loan package completion for submission.
  • Coordinate with Lenders and Branch Managers for required materials and follow-up.
  • Ensure compliance with Reg B and prepare required letters as needed.
  • Research borrowers on government sites for filings and document findings.
  • Prepare commitment letters based on credit approvals and due diligence.
  • Order mortgage due diligence information prior to closing and maintain mailboxes.
  • Provide exemplary customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Maintain knowledge of laws, policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

Interpret and process Business Banking loan applications using the NextGen digital platform in a highly accurate and timely manner. Utilization of numerous resources to verify Applicant data and total banking relationships with CBNA. Manage personal workload to complete assignments in a timely manner and achieve departmental goals.

  • Understand and interpret loan application, credit files and loan approvals.
  • Knowledge of loan application requirements in order to identify missing information from the loan package and create tracking items.
  • Coordinate and communicate with Lenders and Branch Managers to ensure follow up and receipt of all requiredmaterials relative to the BB loan submission.
  • Track applications to ensure that compliance to Reg B standards are being maintained. Prepare and send incomplete letters as needed.
  • Research potential borrowers on various governmental websites for business and collateral filings and document to the file.
  • Interpret cred files and loan approvals in order to prepare commitment letters.
  • Order and track mortgage due diligence information necessary prior to closing.
  • Assist in maintaining BB Department mailboxes to include resolution or response to inquiries sent.
  • Provide exemplary customer service to both internal and external customers in an effort to achieve departmental goals.
  • Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to pertinent policies, procedures and internal controls, and meet all job-specific training requirements.
  • Administrationof Business Banking Loan Credit Files and record retention.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Associates Degree in Business or in a business-related field of study with Lending/Credit related experience.
  • All applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Skills:

  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar and mathematic skills
  • Proficient interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Understanding of financial statement composition with ability to interpret, analyze and connect financial data from various sources
  • Comprehensive understanding of commercial loan documents, processes and collateral perfection
  • Ability to review and interpret credit approval information
  • Strong organizational skills; knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • NextGen experience a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years bank experience related to lending and/or credit analysis function.
  • General knowledge of Commercial Lending Policies, Procedures and Products.

Hours: 40 hours/week

Compensation: Commensurate with experience plus potential for annual merit increase.
