Job summary

UMB Bank in Lenexa, Kansas is seeking a Portfolio Manager-Business Banking to underwrite renewals, modifications and term changes for an established business credit portfolio. You will spread financials, analyze statements, and present credit-structure solutions to manage risk across multiple states.

The role requires a Bachelor's in business-related fields, at least 1 year in business loan credit, and strong writing and verbal skills to communicate with sales and credit teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related area with at least 6 hours of accounting
• 1+ year in Business Loan experience (up to $5MM)
• 1+ year credit analysis experience
• Demonstrates credit decision making skills and ability
• Demonstrates financial analytical skills with ability to solve complex problems by interpreting data and results
• Demonstrates excellent writing skills to create credit memos
• Demonstrates excellent verbal and interpersonal skills to communicate with sales force and credit managers
• Demonstrates ability to work independently
• Proficiency of Excel, and Word to create tables and worksheets for credit memos

Responsibilities

• Perform spreading company financial statements and tax returns
• Analyze financial statements, personal financial statements, and performance metrics for explanation of variances
• Present solutions to credit structure, covenants, financial reporting requirements and other credit conditions
• Provide specialized risk guidance on existing portfolio across a multi-state footprint
• Secure financial information and test covenants requirements
• Provide timely client follow up and ensure loan servicing actions are properly administered
• May perform site visits if needed
• Address complaints, resolve documentation exceptions and covenant violations
