Job summary

Huntington Bancshares, Inc. in Columbus, OH is seeking a Senior Business Banking Closing Specialist who collaborates with Relationship Managers, borrowers, sellers, attorneys, brokers, and underwriters to collect due diligence and drive the loan closing process.

You will coordinate closing dates, schedule closings, mentor junior Loan Specialists, and ensure compliance and accurate commitment letters within the defined SLA. Exempt status; office-based with potential flexible arrangements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related experience.
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Strong detail orientation and organizational skills.
• Understanding of industry, lending regulations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates interaction between parties within a 30–45 day SLA for loan closings.
• Assists colleagues with difficult situations or customers.
• Prepares the more difficult loan commitment letters and application documents.
• Responsible for initial compliance and preparing the loan commitment package.
• Reviews other Client Specialists’ commitment letters for accuracy.
• Orders third party reports and distributes to correct parties for review.
• Subject matter expert in the lending process.
• Engages daily with customers to explain and mentor borrowers through lending nuances.
• Coordinates with all parties to establish closing date.
• Schedules closing and arranges the distribution of docs.
• Mentors less experienced Loan Specialists.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinates interaction between these parties all within the defined loan closing SLA of 30-45 days.
• Assists other colleagues with difficult situations or customers.
• Prepares the more difficult loan commitment letters and application documents.
• Responsible for initial Compliance and preparing the loan commitment package.
