Job summary

UMB invites applications for a Business Banking Client Manager to manage a large portfolio of Business Banking clients in Dallas, expanding relationships and acquiring new customers through established contacts. You will serve as a conduit for all product lines and seek cross-sell opportunities.

You will drive revenue by nurturing existing relationships, maintaining credit quality, and coordinating with underwriting on credit decisions. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field.
  • Three years' banking experience including credit analysis and client management.
  • Demonstrate a high level of understanding of credit underwriting.

Job description

As one of UMB's leading lines of business, the Business Banking Team is responsible for helping grow the Business Banking loan portfolio with companies generating revenues from $1MM-$20 M M . The team is made up of Business Banking Relationship Officers, Treasury Management Officers, Underwriters, Client Managers, and Analysts. This team manages Commercial and Industrial relationships throughout their lives - developing meaningful connections with management of the companies they serve. Always mindful of the changes in the company, its industry, etc., over time that might create a change in their financial service needs.

As the Business Banking Client Manager , you will have a primary focus on managing a portfolio of Business Banking clients, expanding the relationship with UMB within the client portfolio and a secondary focus on new customer acquisition, primarily through leveraging client portfolio relationships and contacts . You will be responsible for a large-sized portfolio.

How you'll spend your time:
  • You will s erve as a conduit for all product lines and match client needs with appropriate products . Always looking for cross selling opportunities for all bank products.
  • You will g row revenue as directed by senior management by successfully prospecting new business within portfolio and making appropriate referrals .
  • You will m aintain a portfolio by calling on existing customers to expand existing business, ensure excellent client relations & proper servicing of account(s), and ensure the portfolio's credit quality.
  • You will n egotiate credit arrangements and prepare credit memoranda and supporting documentation with underwriting for presentation to approvers.
  • You will c ontinuously monitor borrowing base reports and covenant compliance with regular reporting requirements for client base. Establish protocols and maintain tracking of documentation exceptions, past dues, field exams, borrowing base reports and covenant exceptions.
  • You will r ecognize and manage early warning signs for client portfolio on a recurring basis, which may include but are not limited to the following: analyze borrower/guarantor financial performance upon receipt of reporting requirements, either monthly, quarterly or annually. Fully analyze and confirm borrowing base and financial covenant compliance, analyze payment performance benchmarks and perform regular financial reviews.
  • You will p rovide recurring customer service to existing clients, which includes direct contact with customers and an emphasis on maintaining UMB TUCE at all times .
  • You will f ile all required reports, and resolve all related issues in a timely and efficient manner .

  • You d emonstrate knowledge of bank products, services, and bank operations .
  • You d emonstrate ability to interpret policies/procedures, loan contracts, and understanding of credit reports, financial statements and loan documents .
  • You d emonstrate high level of analytical skill .
  • You d emonstrate ability to be self -starter and show initiative .
  • You d emonstrate strong communication skills (verbal & written ) .
  • You d emonstrate proficiency in Word, Excel & PowerPoint .
  • You have a bility to prospect and network at various levels within a company .
Bonus points if:
  • You have knowledge of lending products & cross selling of treasury management products.

Compensation Range:

$98,208 - $144,705
