Job summary

Solstice Data is seeking a Business Application Developer to turn rough AI-generated drafts into reliable tools across front-end, database, and AI-agent workflow domains. You will build user-facing web pages and forms, connect data stores, and shape automation strategies for end-to-end solutions.

With 3–5 years of related experience and a CS-related background, you will design, test, and refine AI assistants while coordinating projects and maintaining code quality across the stack.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of directly related experience across software development, automation, or applications support.
• Experience building or improving user-facing web pages, forms, or simple applications with a focus on usability and clarity.
• Experience setting up, reviewing, or connecting databases and data stores.
• Ability to design, test, or improve AI assistants, automations, or AI-supported workflows with clear instructions.
• Experience documenting messy workflows into clear, efficient steps.
• Experience coordinating software or technology projects: gathering requirements, tracking progress, communicating updates.
• Hands-on experience reading, reviewing, debugging, or modifying code in at least one programming language.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Azure or similar cloud-based tools.
• Preferred: Computer Science or related degree or certificates; end-to-end solution experience; translating non-technical needs into technical requirements.

Responsibilities

Our Innovation Team turns rough AI-generated drafts into tools people actually trust and use. As our Business Application Developer, you'll take a rough website, a messy spreadsheet process, or a promising AI agent and make it work end to end: cleaning up the interface, setting up the data behind it, testing the automation, and making sure it holds up under real use. You'll move across front-end work, database setup, AI agent design, and light project management within the same week, with real input into where automation should run on its own and where a person needs to stay in the loop.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build and refine user-facing web pages, forms, and simple applications, improving on AI-generated drafts for usability and professional polish across desktop and mobile.
• Set up, review, and connect databases and data stores so information submitted through Solstice's tools is captured accurately and can be retrieved reliably.
• Design, test, and refine AI assistants and agents, and judge where automation should run unattended versus where a person should review the output first.
• Document undocumented or inconsistent business processes into clear, agreed workflows, and identify where AI or automation can help.
• Manage small-to-mid software and automation projects end to end: gather requirements, set timelines, run check-ins, and report status and slippage to leadership.
• Build out, debug, and integrate AI-generated and custom code into finished tools, reviewing AI-written code for soundness before it ships.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 3-5 years of directly related experience across software development, automation, or applications support
• Experience improving or building user-facing web pages, forms, or simple applications, with attention to usability and clarity
• Experience setting up, reviewing, or connecting databases and data stores
• Ability to design, test, or improve AI assistants, automations, or AI-supported workflows using clear instructions and practical judgment
• Experience documenting business processes and translating messy workflows into clear, efficient steps
• Experience coordinating software or technology projects: gathering requirements, tracking progress, communicating updates
• Hands-on experience reading, reviewing, debugging, or modifying code in at least one programming language
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Azure or similar cloud-based tools
• Preferred: Computer Science or related degree or certificates; experience integrating front-end, database, automation, and AI tools into one end-to-end solution; experience translating non-technical stakeholders' needs into clear technical requirements.

COMPENSATION

• Starting Salary Range $85,000-$115,000 USD ASR.
